I can't understand WHY you weren't told at the same time as the rest of us - in the absence of you joining in the celebrations, I just assumed that you hadn't entered the comp.........
Last year, my friend Sabine Eschbach entered the comp - heard nothing, and it was only when I saw the TBCI e-mag that we realised that she had been nominated.....and only just in time to send her bear off to England!

Yes - they all have their little tricks - we had one cat who would wait till you opened ONE eye....if you closed it again, he would gently punch it till it opened again - I guess the cartoon version would peel the eyelid open with a couple of claws........
Fuchsia's trick, as she senses you waking is to STAND just on /over your bladder (at which time she feels like she weighs TONS) - it WORKS!

AHA...Jeannie, you have confirmed my suspicions ...........it's sort of customary here in Germany to send some goodies with a bear - and Gummi bears are the favourite. Way back, I sent off a parcel to the States, and it arrived "damaged in transit" - now I always pack VERY carefully, and did a check through the contents with the purchaser - turned out all that was missing was the pack of.....Gummi bears!
My biggest fear when going through customs  is meeting the sniffer dog who had a deprived puppyhood and has always wanted a cuddly toy of his own..........visions of ending up in jail for fighting with the dog.
Worst so far was a couple of years back, going into england - the bears were all carefully packed in cartons (the house-moving type), and a sniffer dog was introduced into the back of our vehicle....he leaped, all four feet, straight into one of the boxes.....AARRRGGGHHHHH!  Fortunately the bears were O.K. - not so, my nerves!

I heartily agree - there is just so MUCH amazing work here, and I'm sure it acts as a spur and inspiration all round - everyone seems to get better and BETTER!
I just never have time enough to comment on evrything, but I DO check it all out.

ERKY!!!!! Looks very pretty, but I'm not very fond of snow and ice - ever since I slipped and broke my RIGHT wrist,
Xmas day, 1999.
It's getting cold here - first ice on Nounours' outside water bowl over the weekend............
I'm definitely a summer person (when we actually GET one!)
