Good for you!! I believe it's important to keep learning about whatever interests you may have. And, if it saves you a little money in the end....it's a great thing!!
Warmest bear hugs,

This is a subject near and dear to my heart as I've taken on care of my darling five month old granddaughter during the week. It has been a challenge to eek out time for bear making during the week (usually nap time!) and still spend time with my husband evenings and weekends. It's a slow go. I certainly don't make bears at the pace I used to!!

It never even occured to me to use two separate flosses! I've only ever used one, finishing one side and then the other. Hmm! I love learning how other artists craft their bears!!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Congratulations!! Let the spoiling begin!! You're going to have sooooo much fun being an Aunt. You won't be able to pass a baby store without going in....just to look. Heehee
This makes me so very sad.
I do hope it can just be ta-ta for now and not forever.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
P.S. I didn't realize you were on Facebook.
Just listed on my website after a little hiccup. Sweet baby Macey was born on May 2nd and I've been in "Nana Land" ever since. Life is settling down just a bit so I'm finally able to catch up on a few things I had in the works. So, without further chit chat......Miss Meribeth Butterbottom. She's made of Golden Tan 370S/C. Happy peeking!!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Bless you all and thank you for all the kind comments. I wish I could personally respond to each one. As many of you know my first granddaughter was born this past Saturday. My time is busy being Nana and working on bears as time allows. I know you will understand. Thank you again.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Your time is valuable and I very much appreciate every comment. Thank you and bless you for your posts.

How exciting!!! Congratulations everyone!! Well done! I can't wait to see pictures!
Warmest happy for you bear hugs,

Thank you so very much for all your kind posts. I hold dearly every thought. I've been so hit and miss, mostly miss, these past months in the bear world. I feel a lot like a newbie jumping back in. Maybe not the best timing with economies around the globe hitting a rough patch. Oh well. I'd rather miss my target than not jump. Everyone has to start somewhere! It's a leap of faith!!
Thank you again!

Hi there!
Now don't everyone fall out of their chairs....I just listed a bear. Her name is Lizzie Pearl and she was just posted to my website. I know it's been awhile so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
Bless you bunches for peeking in!!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Hi Brenda!
You've probably already done this but I'll ask anyway...Did you click on their name and look at their profile? If they request you as a friend, you have 30 days to peruse their profile. That always gives me a clue. I have to say, many TT'ers names I don't recognize because Facebook gives a last name or even a maiden name. So many TT'ers are first name only or business names. I mean really, how many people know my last name? If I had a normal first name like Linda, how would you know to add me unless you look at my profile. If we have 37 friends in common I'm most likely from TT or high school. If we only have one friend in common, I do a little more digging.
Some people are strictly looking for networking to get their names or businesses out there. I've had a few of those. Ignore. Unless I've done business with them and want to continue....ignore button. I don't want every Tom, Dick and Harry on my friend list.
That's about all I know....or remember...it's 11:35pm and I've been working all day to reorganize my studio. Something is bound to slip through the cracks of my "overwhelmed with stuff" brain.
Warmest bear hugs,

Everything is spoken for. Thank you for all the interest!

The eyes and the mini fabric/patterns are spoken for. The mohair scraps are still available at this typing.
I'm sorry Jane girlie! My last freebie package overseas was a doozie. Postage rates are ridiculous!
Hugs,
Aleta
I've got some scrap mohair and some mini bear fabric and patterns to give away! The mini stuff includes fabric and patterns by Emily Farmer. I just can't manage the wee bears...too fiddly for me. The scrap mohair is mostly 370S/C and 785H. Rather long, but could be cut down for smaller bears. Remember, the scrap mohair is just scraps that were too big to throw out. A good size stack.
All you have to do is send me an e-mail to let me know which one you want (mini or scrap mohair) and I'll pop them in a bubble mailer and out they'll go. No postage. All free. U.S. residents only, sorry.
Oh, and I have some glass eyes too, if anyone is interested. 18MM.
That wraps it up. First come, first served!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Multi-tasking and a laptop!!
Seriously though, I find I really have to be disciplined. I also have to pick and choose my "entertainment". For example: Do I want to chat on Facebook or watch T.V.? If it's reality T.V. then I can do both at the same time without having to follow a plot. ha!
The thing I'm not so good at keeping up with is comments on my blog. If I'm asked a question then I try really hard to respond as soon as possible. If it's a general comment I usually don't follow-up with another comment. So many people have the no-replyblogger thing attached anyway so sending a reply note is fruitless.
I don't belong to My Space because a friend told me it was "so Junior High". Well, I don't want to be Junior High. I may act Junior High, but I don't want to BE Junior High.

I'm also not making a whole lot of bears right now. My larger bears aren't selling as quickly as they used to so I'm not willing to put the effort into them right now only to have them sit around here. It's just not good business sense. My antique business is doing well so that's where my concentration is. I'm lucky that I have another outlet in which to be creative. That's a Saturday, Sunday, Monday business for me so I have the rest of the week to work on whatever else I want, or need, to work on.
I think it all boils down to picking what works for you and sticking to just those things and trying NOT to do it all. You don't have to. The reason I say this is: A female friend of mine, at the age of 37 (with two small children I might add), just had a heart attack.
It took six tries with the paddles to bring her back to life. They don't know if she's sustained any brain damage yet or not. She's having open heart surgery tomorrow. She's one of those people, much like me and so many others of you out there, that tries to do it all. It's been a huge wake up call for me. I'm not trying to do it all anymore. I'll still do a lot because that's just what I like to do. I just won't make myself nuts over it or feel guilty about it any more.
Life is short. You shouldn't spend it feeling guilty because you haven't updated your blog in a few days or haven't joined this or that group.
Well.....I got on a little rant there, didn't I?!! I'm just say'n..............
Warmest and biggest bear hugs,
Aleta
If you think TT uses up your time....Facebook is just as bad!....and if you have a blog too?......well, I hope your time management skills are better than mine!!!

I'd be delighted to be your friend.....Aleta Breese
Yay for all the nominees!!! Some very familiar names and some not so familiar names. I can't wait to see the nominees in the magazine!!
Also, on a side note, a big congratulations to all those who even submitted for consideration!!! It takes a lot to put yourself out there. So, a big hug to you too!
Warmest bear hugs,

Ooooh! How exciting!! I know that pins and needles feeling. I didn't enter this year though. Decided not to at the last minute.
Best wishes to all who've entered!!

Okay. So what exactly does it mean if all you see is the chickiedoodle kicking her leg back and forth like a clock pendulum? Without going around? Tick, tock, tick, tock.
It must be my computer. That's my story and I'm stick'n to it!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Edited to add: I think I'm just really, really tired. Must go to bed now. G'nite.
My, aren't I just the chatty one today?!!
So, do you? Do you keep an inspiration file? One specifically for bears? I do. I referred to it, for the first time in a long time, today.
I'm trying to figure out where my head is artistically/creatively. I'm really drawn to a more unkempt, shabby, tattered look like my woebegone antique bears. Eyes and ears askew with lopsided smiles. Somewhat like my Truly Silly! bears only a little bit rounder and a wee bit bigger. I'm going to give it a whirl to see if it rekindles my spark for bearsmithing.
Where is your inspiration leading you these days?
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Hi Jodi!! Delighted to see you peeking in!! Sending warm thoughts and warm hugs your way..........
