May I please present Rusty Bear. He is 19" tall and of a rusty colored mohair with white belly. Rusty has a few white hair growing in his bears but don't tell him he is getting old. He thinks he's just a young chap! (Especially around the ladies!)
I refuse FB because so many friends I know have had their computers "killed" by it. I just had to replace my old computer and believe me it is not cheap so I want to protect it at all cost...
I think it works great for tiny bears but never for big ones. I like to make sure that everything fits right before I sew on the big ones.
Gus is just wonderful. What a talent you have...
Ted Menten's Teddy Bear Studio has a few easy patterns that turn out beautiful!
He looks a little impish...so cute!
I am in love with Lawrence. He is just my type of bear! What a beauty.
I have to admit I sleep with my bear (when I can get away with it!) It is a big bear and my husband bought him for me many years ago to help me sleep. He is not jointed and he supports my arm and one of my legs so I can get my spine straight to sleep. I had a back injury when I was 13 and am basically chippled from it so I have to have support. I just love this bear and I gave him a new nose recently because I guess I had rubbed his off!
Why I said when I can get away with it is because my little Westie does not like the bear and some nights she gets between me and the bear and kicks and kicks until she gets him off the bed.
Works for me!
There have been lots of them found with carcinigans in the filling. They don't have such strict guidelines for childrens toys as we do.
Sorry Arcto! Didn't mean you but I would not give a toy made in China to a small child!
So, we need a due date for our braile teddies?
Exactly Jessie. And, you don't want to buy your child a toy from China! There is no telling what you may be getting.
I am sure my Beddy Bye Bear was mass produced but long ago!
I don't know if yours were mass produced but they are not recent ones...
Jessie, she is talking about mass produced bears. Companies are trying to cut cost anyway they can. One way I know is to use inferior materials and another is to use cheap labor such as in China.
Looks like Elder caught his lunch. A nice big one too! He is really cute!
Oh, All Bear, I am in love with your bears. They are perfect whatever size they are. My favorite is the middle one in the sweater vest. He looks like he would be so loveable.
I agree with you. Each person is entitled to love his or her bears in their own way. Just because I love more traditional bears doesn't mean someone else can't love real character bears. I can see the artist in all of them and I love looking at them!
She is precious!
I love your mini! he is beautiful just like a water lily...
Perhaps if all the new things had been available "back when" the bears then would have been different. I was looking through a lot of back issues of magazines and two things caught my attention. One was a little bear with a tiny black dog pulling down her bathing suit bottoms. Her little bottom was all pale (no tan there). Reminded me of when I worked at Coppertone. The other thing that really struck me was a beautiful bear and the artist stated that it was huge and she was not used to making such huge bears. I kept reading until I found out how big this brusier was...12 inches! I don't think I have ever made one that small...
LOVE that picture of Dr. Rogers. He is a wonder. I am so nervous with hunting season starting. I wish Hope would accept her color but she hates it.
Welcome back...
Brian is gorgeous!
I have the book Jessie, You can "look" at it anytime!
