Thanks Jared...there are some good ideas there...I was thinking about running a special give away bear once a year for my mailing list customers.......but I'm not sure how it would work yet...
Are you allowed an email link on your auction page on Ebay? I am always worried about breaking ebay rules!!
Hi I was wondering how everyone here goes about forming a mailing list? I have been asking anyone who buys from me whether they want to be placed on my mailing list....with some limited succes, but I understand that there are some of you who just add everyone who buys to your mailing list and then wait for them to ask to be removed....is this true and if you do this do you ever get anyone who becomes upset at being added when they didn't ask to be?
I haven't been game just to add people but I was wondering if this is the way you're supposed to do it?

Thanks guys  ...I am still on cloud nine!!
Sarah it is good to see you posting again...I hope you're feeling better!!
Thanks Carola and Vicki...I am still thrilled every time I look at him!!!
Oh Jane...I am so glad your dad is going to be alright...I hate it when they scare us like that!!!
Jodi has there been any thought as to how us internationsal artists are able to be involved.....Do we have to have our auctions listed by someone else???
I just wanted to jump in here and say that one of my wonderful collectors has purchased one of my bears and then asked me to donate her to this campaign in honor of all the people in her family that she has lost to this insidious disease!!!
There are some really lovely, kind, generous people in this world!!
I want to say a BIG thank you to Sandra the editor of Australian Bear Creations.....I have a bear of mine in the magazine this month...excitement number 1 and when I finally got a copy of the magazine this month there was my bear sitting proudly in among the others....On the Cover!!!!! I haven't stopped smiling since!!
Aside from all that Sandra has done a fantastic job of the magazine and it all looks great...so Thank you Sandra!!!
For such a long time I have admired Terries Bears from afar...even before I found these forums I used to watch her bears every week!! As some of you know I am not really a collector (although I think I can feel that changing!!! lol) but yesterday I received a beautiful bear from Terrie....Here he is 'Parker'....he is gorgeous and I love him to bits!!!!
Hi...Bobbie, I am finding it so interesting reading all these posts.....I know what you mean when you said
Unfortunately, it's just starting for you, Sarah Jane. A year can be a very long time to a bear artist; a short time to a collector. Regular is understood to mean 'with a certainty of posting': once a week from Thurs through Tues, every other week for 3 or 7 days, once a month on the first Tuesday,etc... That's what regularity means to my list - they know approximately when to expect new work and check for it. There aren't as many collectors that are as loyal and constant surfers as we fellow bear makers are!
And that is so right....I have actually been listing on ebay since last year but only have said zFeb because that is when I started having an auction up every week at the same time...I do think that regularity is so important.
I didn't mean to imply that I didn't like Ebay as that is where my main buyers have mostly come from I just sometimes wonder if I am doing myself more damage than good during the times when I am not selling?
On the other hand I love making the bears and would fast run out of room here at home if I didn't sell at least some of them!!!
Kelly...this very question is what I have been asking myself in recent times. I have been listing on ebay regularly since February, and while I feel that I have established myself as a regular lister I have had trouble establishing myself as a regular 'seller' and I am wondering myself how good that advertising can be if collectors are watching my bears go through week after week without a bid or even with only one bid?
So the bottom line is that I can't really answer your question but I will wait to see what everyone else says!!!
He is great Sandi...I love his outfit!!
