Thank you Brenda and Kay!!
Actually Brenda, this will be the last big group for awhile. It's time to do some spring cleaning, get rid of some stuff and then decide if bear artistry is really where my head is. I surely won't be making 12 bears at a time again. That's just nuts!! One or two a month sounds kind of nice to me.
It's the larger bears that put the most stress on my shoulder. I may have to stick with the smaller bears. We'll see. Time and patience....both of which I seem be be sorely lacking these days!

See, I have been working!! 12 bears are done except for the last dressing/accessorizing details. I'll be listing at least one small bear and one large bear each week for the next few weeks so I can catch up on other things I have in the works.
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Yay Brenda!! Okay, so Brenda has established I'm not completely out of my mind. I guess this means I have to list bears now, huh? Oh, all right. Enough chair twirling. I was getting a little dizzy anyway.
Be back later. :photo:

Hey there girlie,
I'm not getting a top to bottom thing. I get an ever so slight delay with a couple of stragglers popping into place. I'm high speed. Well, that goes without saying doesn't it? Ha!
Your site looks supercalifragilistic....and expialidoscious!! You deserve a tiara! Hey now, I know just where I can find one of those too. Pieces of Flair(e)!!

Perfect sense, Laura! The only problem is, I see the logo just fine on my computer and can go back and forth with ease. That's why I was so confused by Paula's post.
I just moved the logo two pictures higher on my blog....can you see it now? If not, please see my previous post about falling on the floor. Heehee
Hugs and hugs and hugs,
Aleta
Hi Paula,
I'm confused. Did I not link properly from my blog to the site? Oh, please, say I did it right 'cuz if I didn't I'm going to fall on the floor. Yep. I'm gonna fall on the floor and I'm just going to stay there for awhile and look at the ceiling. I'm going to lay there and look at the ceiling for so long that I won't get bears listed today. Then it will be all your fault. It will be all your fault for making that Bear Blog site. Ha!

P.S. Pretty good Drama Queen, huh?
Hi Paula,
I used to paint t-shirts and jeans with acrylic paints...way back in the stone ages it was. I always washed the fabric, to take out the sizing, and dried the material in a hot dryer using NO softening agents. Heat set in the dryer after allowing acrylics to dry 234 hours. Ha....234 hours? I meant 24 hours.
What'cha paint'n?

In answer to your original question: Why do I listen to the news? Well, I think I listen because I'm waiting to hear something positive. I've actually started to tune into the evening news at 20 past the hour. In the last ten minutes we get sports, weather and a two minute segment of happiness or what went right in the world today. I can be happy with sports scores. I can be happy about most of the weather (most except for s.n.o.w.). I think the thing I count on most in the news is those last two minutes.

Dee said: "....getting it on Paula's site is a piece o'cake!!!"  For you maybe!! Ha. For me, not so much. Techno ding-a-ling here.
I did finally figure it out after I went to Paula's original post, copied the instructions and then went step by step. The sad thing is, five year olds are faster on the computer than I am. I was having a dickens of a time linking the picture to site. I would copy the code and then try to paste it and it would disappear. What's up with that? After several disappearing acts I finally decided to manually input the information. It links now. We'll see if it actually registers anything besides a lovely little goose egg. Heehee
Now I have a jumbo size headache from beating my head against the screen. Remember that funny image (actually it was kind of a scary image) of the little red guy bashing himself against the keyboard and eventually kind of bleeding out? You know the one. Shelli posted it. Oh, maybe some of the newbies don't remember it. Annnnnyway.....that was me today. Time for a nap. I really should photograph some finished bears. Nah. Nap wins!

A ginormous thank you to my dear friend, Brenda (Duffyantiques). She completely knocked me out of my chair and made me cry a couple of days ago! This is not a bad thing. This is a good thing! You see, she made me a banner for the 100 Bear Blog site of Paula's. I had no idea she was making one for me. It was a complete surprise and it's absolute perfection!! I couldn't have designed a better one for myself. Actually, she designed a better one than I ever could! What could be more perfect than my best dressed bears on a pink ground? Sometimes I think Miss Brenda knows me better than I know myself!!
Anyway, I just wanted to publicly thank Brenda for doing such a lovely thing for me. Brenda girlie, you ROCK!!
Okay, now let's see if I can post it here......and then get it on Paula's fab site!! HEY!! IT WORKED!!!

Well, it worked here. I'm still scratching my head on how to get the banner onto Paula's site. Oh poo.
Warmest bear hugs,

Now THAT was fun!! I must have really good hand eye coordination....or a really good mouse! Hey Brenda, maybe this is a good game for ADD'ers!!
Thank you Sue Ann! I put it on my favorites list.

Hi Shelli and Donna!
Thank you for your posts. I googled JoAnne but there didn't seem to be anything current out there. It's as if she just disappeared in July/August of 2007. I know her mom, Ellen Barnett, has been listing on eBay again recently. Even she seemed to disappear there for awhile. I know JoAnne has a son in the Marines. I hope everything is okay. Idaho. JoAnne was living in Idaho when we kept in touch. I too, have a few of her bears. Cute as the dickens, they are!!
Oh, wait! Just typing here and remembering back......I know someone that may know something. I also have another lead that a lovely gal contacted me with so I'll try that too.
Thank you again for your posts!
Warmest bear hugs, Aleta
Ah, yes! Thank you, Denise!
It must have been all the airbrushing I did yesterday....total brain melt.

BTW Roxanne, I meant to comment on your bracelet......very pretty! Your wirework is splendid. Bravo!!

Isn't that the phrase to use when you're trying to find someone? I have a lovely collector trying to find out whatever happened to two particular artists that used to list on eBay quite frequently but now are MIA. Does anyone know what has happened to JoAnne Harnden, Hucklebeary Patch, or Jody (her last name escapes me at this moment) but she used to make the sweet little mice with the stories. She was a member on TT for awhile, was trying to organize a Breast Cancer auction, and then disappeared. If anyone knows about either of these women would you mind sending me a PM or an e-mail? I'd like to pass along the information to my collector friend.
Thank you for your time!!

Ouch!! I hope you're well on your way to a speedy recovery!

P.S. Not particularly fond of creepy crawly or slithery things. Although, the simple garden snakes don't bother me much anymore. I know they won't hurt me. Spiders though.....I have tiny scars from those little buggers. Ouch!

I'm not crazy about going to the dentist for major procedures either. I hope you heal up lickety split!

Hi Brenda,
I'm glad your friend is feeling better! I love the goodies you made. My personal favorite is the one you made with Corson's picture. Is that made with clay and metallic powders? It looks like stamped metal so I'm not really sure.
The mini quilt is such a lovely gift from your friend. WOW! Lucky you!! I tried to make a miniature quilt once. Once. Never again. And I do mean never.
Warmest bear hugs,

Thank you for the gentle kick in the behind, er, reminder Peta!

Great idea, Paula!!! With your helpful tutorial maybe I can give this a whirl this weekend. I don't have a banner thingie. I wonder if my blog banner picture would work. Hmmmm. We'll see!!

Spring is coming, Brenda!! I noticed a neighbors daffodils have leaves shooting up about two inches out of the ground. I'm afraid they may get dusted with snow though. They're saying we could get more snow on Sunday. Bummer. Global warming...global cooling...El Nina...El Nino....whatever!! Snow, snow, go away....don't you dare come back this way!!
Warmest bear hugs,

Nicely done Joanne! I love the clean, crisp look. And it's so easy to navigate. Yay for you!! I also loved the pictures of Arizona on your About Me page. You are lucky to live in such a magnificent place. Isn't America truly and amazingly beautiful from sea to shining sea?!!!
Anyway, good for you sticking to a resolution....and doing such a great job.
