I suppose there is beauty in that picture somewhere, Tracy. Oh yes. There it is. Those ponytail holders are a lovely shade of lavendar!

Oh Lisa,
How delightful!! I could use some sunny skies. Make sure though, that you send warm temperatures too. The last time someone sent sunny skies the cold evening temperatures froze my pool! I had to have the pool boy come check the pipes. Notice I said THE pipes and not MY pipes. We're not going down THAT path today!

Miss Penny Poppins has a cold and a case of the crankies I see. Posting your germs in the mail? I think that may just be terms for sleeping outside in the poolhouse. You really wouldn't want that now......would you?
Warmest hugs,
Aleta
P.S. I hope you feel better soon, Penny. It's a drag being sick.
Oh Daphne! I'm so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Be safe in your travels.
Warmest bear hugs,

Lyn,
I'm sorry to hear you're sick too!! I guess we both got the wrong flu shot. There is comfort, though, that the severity and duration should be much shorter having received the flu shot. That's what I've been told so I'm thinking positively that I'll be better soon. I'm already bouncing off the walls. Then again, I always have the energy of a two year old!
Warmest hugs,

Oh Daphne! They're wonderful!! Not that my pea pickin opinion counts in the big scheme of things but, I would definitely go see a movie with either of them in it.
You should be so proud!!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Oh Lisa! You're a hoot! Thank you for the smiles this afternoon girls. Having the flu doesn't stop the Queen.....slows her down (how inconvenient!) but doesn't stop her.
Warmest and biggest bear hugs,

You girls in your thirties are babies yet!! Geez, I'm forty-four and don't feel a day over 21.....except when I'm sick.....then I feel like I'm 22. Now if only the mirror wasn't showing those funny looking little wrinkly things by my eyes. But then again, those only show if I've had more than one martini!!
Warmest hugs,

I was named after Queen Aleta of the Misty Isles.....of Prince Valiant fame. Yeah, yeah, I was named after a comic strip character. Now I'm affectionately known as Queen by my closest friends.

Oh Deb! You really made me laugh! They say laughter is the best medicine and I have to say, as lousy as I feel, just checking in to TT every few hours or so really lifts my spirits. You all make me laugh and laugh. Thank you so very, very much.
Warmest bear hugs,

It's so nice to know that someone elses head is full of air too! I'm not the only one! I'm not the only one! Blonde? Did someone mention blonde?
Warmest hugs,

Oh bother is right! I have things to do, pictures to take, bears to list!!!! I realize now that a lot of you would like to have my studio.....but sheesh!...whose idea was it to run over me with a truck?
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Egad! That's me!! Boo hoo. I do have the flu and a raging fever. The bears won't come near me and have disinfecting spray poised and at the ready at the studio door. Geez, a bearmom just can't catch a break!
Bless you gals for all the get well wishes. You really know how to make a girl cry.
102.2 degree bear hugs,

Penny Poppins? I've missed something haven't I? A few posts perhaps? Annnnyhooo.....
Penny, the avatars you're building are just wonderful!! Bravo!! Another computer wizard in our midst. I'm afraid you won't ever find my name on that list!
Erin, the bear in your avatar is incredible!! Bravo!!

Hi Debbie,
I'll try to be as coherent as I can....I have the flu....and a raging fever. I was only checking in to TT for a second just to see what everyone is chatting about when I saw your Kool Aid results topic posted.
BRAVO! Isn't it fun? Did you sort of feel like a junior chemist? If you want a lovely plum color go for Dark Cherry. If you want to pump up the color intensity when you're dyeing your mohair the temperature of the dye needs to be higher. I boil my dye on the stove, let it cool a bit, dunk the pre-moistened mohair in and then check, check, check to see how it's coming along. Sometimes the mohair really grabs the dye FAST that's why I check, check, check it. Also, your ratio of water to dye makes a difference too. Keep a journal of your findings!! It's fun to look back at what you did.....especially if you want to recreate a particular color.
You're right about the color shade difference when using a color other than white mohair to dye. Blonde or tan colors do make the most lovely muted shades. Might I also suggest wearing heavy duty rubber gloves. They'll save your fingers and nails from turning all those lovely Kool-Aid colors and they also protect your hands from the heat when you wring out your mohair.
Warmest Kool Aid hugs,

Thank you everyone for your support and your postings. I received two very apologetic e-mails from my friends after sending the wikipedia definition of art. Thank you again, Shelli! All is forgiven, even if I do still smart just a little.
To each his or her own art!!
Warmest bear hugs,

P.S. The bunnies are still hiding under the bed. I wonder if they'll ever be the same?
Paula,
I believe it's the May/June issue this year.
Chrissie,
Bless you for the link. With so many different threads and posts it's easy to miss these things sometimes!
Warmest bear hugs,

Oh silly, Sue Ann. We still love ya! Don't give it another thought.

Lower back and abdominal pain? That doesn't sound good. Go to your doctor PDQ!!!
Sending warm hugs in hopes they help to make you feel better,

Congratulations, Heather!
My daughter is getting married in August. She's doing more of a tropical theme......in our backyard.......and then flying to Vegas for the honeymoon. And no, I'm not doing her invitations. 100 people? Are you kidding me?
Anyway, the reason I'm posting is to tell you to search for Somerset Studios magazines in your area. They put out several different titles: Cloth, Paper, Scissors and Legacy both come to mind. They are beautiful magazines chock full of fabulous ideas. They're the type you keep in a cabinet forever.
I wish you every happiness!
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
GORGEOUS!! Thank you for sharing them with us, Chrissie!

PPS Is the bunny on the far right, drunk? Or is he the "lookout" for the "all clear" signal?
Silly you, Shelli! I don't have drunk bunnies in my studio. Of course, he's the lookout bunny!! The "lookout here she comes" bunny.
Would someone be so kind as to post what category each person was nominated for? Pretty please?
Warmest bear hugs,
Aleta
Okay everyone! Pay attention here!! We have a TT'er, Shari, going in for "urgent" surgery. This is not a little thing. This is a big thing. AND, it's being done on Shari's birthday for heavens sakes. Let's all send positive thoughts not just today but everyday she's away from us.....and beyond!
Warmest bear hugs,

I'm trying to find humor as I let my anger go. I'll share, in pictures, what I did after lunch and what I've learned since.
Picture 1: Never touch the clippers when you're mad and have had three shots of espresso.
Picture 2: The Easter bunnies are afraid of me now. See Picture 1 and remember, never touch the clippers when you're mad and have had three shots of espresso.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind and thoughtful postings!!
Warmest and biggest bear hugs,
