A Woman is like a teabag....
You don't know how strong she is until you put her in hot water...............
Keep goi'n wit yed daen. (Lancashire Dialect).
Good grief - doesn't life stink.
You'll still be able to visit TT and chat etc. You will be able to consolidate your ideas until the time is right. The creative juices can still flow............................
Take Care.
I don't know if this will help
STUNNING - nothing else I can say.
Wow - how proud are you....................
An excellent article but then the Bears/Figures are totally unique.
Many congratulations.
I'm no eBay specialist at all but I had a quick peek and it looks good -
I'm sure the little one will do well for you then you can take us all out for Chocolates and Champagne
Let us know how you do (in terms of whether you were pleased etc - not the finished price that's no=one else's business) - I'm the worlds worst for missing auction endings.
Thank you again for your comments. I'll just battle on and see how it goes.
I've never offered anything on eBay - I don't want to go that way. So many of you have had problems with eBay. buyers and people misrepresenting your work. I don't want the aggravation. I know lots of you swear by it but I always succumb to Murphy's Law.
Could I jut say A
to everyone who has taken the time to read this thread, and, particularly to those who have responded.
In truth - I'm a bit overwhelmed by all your support.
Thank you so much - you'll never know how you've helped me.....................
I'm feeling a bit demoralised at the moment and wonder if I should carry on with my bearmaking.
I look with awe at the quality of bears everyone creates here and I feel singularly wanting.
For various reasons - I'm not in a position to make bears of the quantity some of you brilliant people offer. This is in no way a criticism - just an expression of my personal predicament.
I don't mean to be defeatist - I just feel I'm pushing water uphill. Is this self-doubt a phase?
I had a thought ( I get them occasionally..... ) that perhaps now is a good time to fly with all the extra security and everyone being so diligent and aware? There will be no complacency at the moment will there. Perhaps the extra time taken is a good trade-off?
I just wondered...............
Is there a local amateur photographic group in your area?
Usually they are very generous with their knowledge and can often tell you of reputable traders etc.
There may be photographic courses/evening classes at educational facilities - they would do the same - It could be an interesting exercise for them to photograph bears.
Now why didn't I think of that for myself :doh
Just a thought................
Go Girl - good wishes but I know everything will be terrific :
(I feel it in my water...........)
I think Penny has been busy 'creating'.
Her website has a new doll section. - in fact its a new site.
Is there anything this woman can't do
Unfortunately - I don't have access to it.
Kim - you are one talented Lady. Your friend will be overwhelmed I'm sure. She's beautiful.
Jenny said
indeed yesterday I threw an new slant into the mix because I hand drew arms legs and body straight onto the fabric...no pattern involved ( a wait and see bear!!!)
GOOD GRIEF - Somebody get me a chair and a stiff drink!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Actually - I don't consume but you know what I mean)
I've really enjoyed this discussion - its given me a lot of food for thought. Can I thank everyone for their comments.
Thank you everyone for sharing your 'secrets'.
Your time and generosity are much appreciated.
Pardon me for chipping in here - I'm certainly not experienced in this regard but if I was buying a OOAK - I would feel let down if it was replicated for someone else. I would have bought on the understanding that it was not one of a limited edition however small that was.
Would it perhaps be possible to offer the lady first refusal on the next bear being made of that general size/colour/fabric type etc. That way since its not exactly a commission piece you have made efforts to honour both parties and you don't feel uncomfortable.
Sorry if I'm speaking out of turn here  - after all what do I know?. : ..............
Is it available in UK or just subscription?

I park my scissors in a shirt pocket, and my needles in the leg of my jeans--it's very important not to get them mixed up
Ooooooogh - potentially nasty
Thanks for the tips Ladies. Much appreciated
Be careful Michelle - making bears is addictive.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Welcome
Those of you clever enough to scissor sculpt to perfection (Don't be shy - you know who you are). I'm going to embarrass myself with a stupid question
What do you use to hold your bears head while you work? assuming you use two hands to sculpt
Do you joint the head to the body before working or sculpt before jointing?
Do you use your knees to hold the head you work on - or have you some amazing heathrobinson device that does the trick?
Thanks in advance
Tell us more about the machine -
what sort is it ?-
what does it do?
Is it one of those computer programme jobbies that machine all by themselves - just like those pianos that 'invisible men' play. - oh spooky
Can it make toast, wash up and hoover?
I'm afraid I'm the quill pen queen too
- sound too technical for me - but some computer whizz will know the answer for sure.
Can I come too - I want to see whales
