Hi all...thought I would post a topic I wondered about :D
So how long does it take each of us to complete a bear? and do you finish in a day or does it take longer?
I take around 10-17 hours depending on the work and I usually work all week in drips and drabs.
Also...do any of you keep your bears?
I have so many coz I can't part with them Or I will make 2...one to sell one to keep lol And I take sooo many photos of the ones I sell, especially the OOAK. I will never see them again
even saying goodbye shots lol. Am I totally pathetic lol
Oh and how about relative bears...oh I have given so many away lol...at least I can still visit them lol
Hugs Sarah
okey dokey...thanks danni

I always buy online and at teddy bear shows that we have twice a year. One bear shop in Adelaide is just about to close down, and it was a big one, probably from the net competition. but the net is so easy isn't it and most stores can't keep up with their prices....
Danni what is it called over here and where did you get it? I really want a sew in tush tag that I can print up but can't find anything. I'm ready to go get some as soon as you answer lol ;)

Dilu, Yentle is surley something wow! I can't imagine working with that fur. I love the embroidery
you are very talented to work with such difficult fur
I think I would have ripped my hair out long before she was finished lol

well done Shelli...I love Chauncey he is so cute. saw him in the magazine too and thought he would win
he gave me a laugh and a fright lol...i sent him to my friends too, feel a bit guilty for laughing at the poor guy tho. my sister said that wouldn't it be scary waking up to him on your bed in the middle of the night lol
sarah
Marie your site is so nice and pretty. Your bears are darling I think I like Rose Marie the best

sorry shari...ebay is hard sometimes, and goes through stages.. sometimes it comes down to one person not looking one week, the next it sells...
i haven't had any problems with buyers yet, so it is really good to hear all your experiences...so i'm prepared. i have had heaps of spoofs tho. i never respond. once it was genuine and my account was de-activated...yikes...makes it tricky
i get lots of emails from nigeria wanting bears...weird...
hugs sarah
Just adding my little bit too...I buy schulte, but have also bought helmbold before too...Well my latest order of shulte contained a thick straight mohair that shed like crazy. I've sent it back in hopes of replacement...still waiting for it to arrive! All of your comments have been interesting to me since I am only just going through this now...

Tammy, I love your little Panda...he is gorgeous!!
Jane, good luck on your panda. I haven't made one before either but want to soon.
hugs sarah
that's what I've been wondering too...my smallest is 6 inches, so not exactly a mini, but I really want a small tag for my bears that I can sew in. I don't think we have shrinky dinks here in Aus. I've heard people talk of printed ribbons. where do they come from and what is the fabric?
thanks
hugs sarah
What a fun discussion Dilu :)
I was a good girl too lol...I did live in my own fantasy land tho and loooved to pretend and use my imagination. I was never lonely coz I could always imagine. I was a roughy too and loved being outside and having adventures lol.
We were all creative kids (my 2 sisters and me) and isn't it funny how 20 yrs ago if you wanted some particular toy or game, you would set about making it with card, glue and scissors lol...kids don't have that so much now which is a shame. Remember the tin can stilts lol.
I think I could follow direction as a kid...but does anyone now hate following instruction manuals, tutorials etc? I would much rather spend an hour working something out myself than 10 mins reading a manual
