In the U.K at the mo there are strikes with british air ways - you might find until this settles down prices will be taking a direct hit - I think the dispute may settle down soon - hopefully after easter!xxxx

ladyjujuann

Me too Birgitte!!! Its so exiting isnt it! I cant wait - Im sure it will be brilliant! Hopefully see you there!xxxx

Many Thanks all - I should be on the 3rd floor - stand 100.... which seems a good number to me! haha - I had a little nosey and I think Im in a corner which is also very good for me... I have a thing about being in the corner! haha
I will no doubt be bothering you all about what I should and shouldnt be doing.... head was an explosion if new bear ideas - I think I really needed this opportunity to get the bear cogs going... have been a bit slow of late... not any more. bear_laugh
I will deffo be treating myself at some point in the day - my wonderful assistant (Husband) will hopefully let me nip off every now and then.
Thankfully were only in Bournemouth so not too far to travel - I cant imagine how much planning it takes to get to Hugglets from over seas - you guys get big pats on the back.
Cant wait to see you all on the day!

HI All,
many thanks for your best wishes - just to let you know George is doing well! He has started to squeek a little bit so I'm taking that as a good sign!
Julia your boys are lovely... I love there names! George was called George because he was found in an Asda crisp box... for those who are not from the uk Asda is a supermarket who have a clothes ranges called George at Asda.... but to be honest he looks like a george!
Cyndee the vet couldnt really come up with an age but said she susspects he is around 1. I have a feeling he was possible a throw back from the film G force and some one realised normal piggies just arnt the same as animated spy piggies!
His story is a bit sad but at least he was in good condition, I feel sorry for the type of people who just dump animals - as we know there are always alternatives. This little guy is so sweet and well behaved I cant imagine anyone not wanting him - compared to our very odd cat Pixie, and Mi-Mi the queen of bunnies Im almost looking forward to when he starts to mis behave - its not normal for us to have a pet that actually doesnt drive us around the bend!
xxxxx hugs xxxxx

HI all happy new year!
Sorry I have been lurking a little bit - some wonderfull bears have been created recently so well done all!
I had to just log on and introduce you to George, our new guinea pig! He is quite a hunk isnt he? George is a very special little piggie because on monday he was found in a cardboard box outside of my husbands work... with no other bedding than sawdust and in freezing conditions! We were lucky enought to have an indoor cage from when our bunny was little and lived indoors so we could rehome George. The excuse given by the thoughtless ex-owners was that his cage was broken and they had no place to keep him! This aside his fur was matted at the back and has had to be cut so I dont think think this is the only reason for dumping him. George was given the all clear by the vet yesterday and other than shell shock seems to be settling in o.k. He is slowly getting used to us and I hope he will start to sing soon.  I just had to share this chunky little face with you all! I will post more pics when he has settled and has his long hair back again!
Love and luck with 2010's creations!

HI Michelle,

so glad you going to give it a go! You will love it! I spent 5 years at art college, I did 2 years theatre crafts and 3 in a costume degree... I loved it and wish I had made more of the opportunity - thats part of growing up though! The chance to just be creative day in and day out was one I wish I had now! You just need to not look at what others produce in "there better than me" fashion and concentrate on what you feel and how you will produce it. You will have ample opportunity to share ideas and pick up skills to improve your work. I believe every one can do something artistic - drawing a nice picture isn't the be all and end all.... hey look at Picasso! Amazing but not what you would immediately think of as a good drawing! ( Im sure you get my gist?! Im not dissing Picasso just saying he produced master pieces that are different) Take as many opportunitys to find what you like doing and give it all you have got! I look forward to seeing some of your pieces.... in whatever form they will take! bear_smile

ladyjujuann

Thank you all... Im glad you liked him! I will be making a slightly smaller bear of a similar style for me husbands aunty - she fell in love with this chap! I will post when hes done!  bear_happy

HI all,
having recently completed my first panda I am questioning if there is a "better" way to set the eye patches??? I have posted in show case and had some usefull suggestions including shading them in, overlaying the patch and ladder stitching it also needle felting the patch... however do we have anyother suggestions, my panda had the patches stitched into the side pieces so to speak. I cut a hole where the patch would go and then cut the patch hoping I could fit the together and woopie done... this sort of worked but it didnt work a dream, I had to snip the seam and thats sort of not good... not the strongest really.... any way I hope this makes some sense?? I will have a go with the shading etc and see what works best for me. bear_grin

Thank you all,
xxx Julie xxx

ladyjujuann

Hi ... thank you for the tips... ahhh sneeky with the colouring in the eye patches!!!  Nancy are Zumi's eye patches done this way... the colour match is spot on!

Andrea yes I stitched the patches into the head before sewing, I cut out a hole in the white for the blue to be stitched into the hole... difficult to describe and do, I have to say I thought it would be easier  bear_wacko ... perhaps in a bigger bear??? Jim is about 4 inches or so.

Tracy... I will give that a go also... I think its a case of practice and finding what works for you... it looks so simple bit its not!

Thank you ladies from Jim and I!

small-panda.jpgId love to introduce you to Bamboo Jim... a first panda and a bit of a practice. I really like this pattern and can see how to tweak it a bit in the head region (like the compact body look) but I have found it a bit tricky to add the eye patches... is there an easy way of doing this? I struggled a bit and the stitching was quite hard, the eye patches are in but there not the best really... so if any one has any advice Id love some tips...  bear_grin

SMALL-Wabbit.jpgHi all.....

LONG TIME NO SEE.... well Ive been lurking as life has just been so busy at the moment.... Ive managed a bit of making but not much what with trying to finish the course my work put me on and then preparing for a job interview... thankfully got the job which is more of a promotion as it is for the same team I work for already... I will soon be the deputy manager as opposed to an assistant manager of the community support team!!!! (We provide support to adults with learning difficulties)

Any way I would like to introduce you to Mr Wabbit the Rabbit.... two firsts... a first rabbit and a first needle felt face... enjoyed both and hope to have a bit more of a practice soon. This chap has hopped over to my parents to live with them... although he did ask me to pass on lots of Easter wishes to you all here!

small-cherry.jpgHi,
some of you may remember my French Fancies? This little one is a custom order for a lady who 's fave cake is a good old cherry bakewell... This little cutie was a devil to make with that wobbly line separating the icing from the cake...( the white mohair form the gold! ) I think she is a sweetie now though, I only hope her new mum thinks so!
