I am going to be at an Arts and Crafts show in the spring and was looking to do some low cost items. I sat down with a pencil and paper and began to scribble around. From that scribble came Mouse Trax note cards. I just thought I would share a couple of pictures (The pics are not the best. I just took them from my dining room table.) I have done the cards with a combination of pen and ink and colored pencils to add a bit of zest. Each card is a one of a kind.
I know how you feel, Jane. I am so tired of the snow and ice. I want spring. My cat has not been outside in so long that she is beginning to go stir crazy. She runs through the house like a mad man. I think I just might take a run with her.
That is so cool! I have the critters that show up here on occasion for a hand out, but nothing along the lines of a koala. Of course if a koala showed up at my house, I would know that I was at the wrong house (wrong country).
Very good job! Congratulations on your first design.
I do know there are some areas that tend to bleed and appear much worse than they really are. If I remember right, it is because the blood vessels are so close to the surface. And I think the ears are one of these areas. If so, chances are that it is nothing serious at all.
Beautiful! Your bears are all so lovely. Their faces are so detailed.
We got the whole ball of wax here. It went from snow to ice to snow to ice........what a mess. Fortunately we did not lose power and we heat with wood so we're ok there. However, when I went to feed the horses and chickens, the gates were all frozen shut so I had to climb the fence. What a sight. I'm sure the horses got a good laugh out of that one.
I just received mine in the mail yesterday.
When my daughter was diagnosed with cancer, the doctor said it is probably from the processed food we eat. I began to do a whole lot of research at that point. It was a real eye opener. We have changed the way we eat and are much better off for it. Unfortunately, it was too late for my daughter.
Here's a sneak peak of my bears for the Be My Valentine show. I have made 4 bears, and they each come with an antique valentine card.
He is so cute!
They are adorable!
Slinky thanks you all for the compliments. We really do get along quite well.
Sue Ann, I can see a ferret named Slinky, but it doesn't seem quite fitting a rabbit. But that is the name he came with, so I'll just leave it.
I didn't realize that it is illegal to keep pet rabbits in Queensland. There are many times that I would agree with that law, like shortly after Easter when people begin to dump those "cute little Easter bunnies" that they have grown tired of. I just hate to see the bunnies and ducks for sale at Easter because I know where most of them will end up when the novelty wears off.
I think if you start with a kit, it will help build your confidence. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the patterns and kits on Intercal do list them according to skill level. If you start with a beginner you should do fine. Go for it!
Brenda, I'm not sure if I can count that high.
Cats - approx. 20
Dogs-4
horses-3
rabbits-2
ducks-5
1 very old turkey
many chickens
I'm probably forgetting someone.
Slinky is my newest adoption. He is a Mini Rex, about 1 year old. He has not been abused, neglected or starved. His owners just couldn't keep him any longer and they handled the situation the right way. So I took Slinky in. He is super sweet, and Rex rabbits are my absolute favorite. He seems very happy to join my zoo.
Definitely sending prayers out for you both. Take your time and take care of yourselves.
It is so cold here that I am having a hard time getting to the hen house for the eggs before they freeze and crack. I miss Texas.
Your co-workers are very lucky.
He is beautiful. I understand how you feel though. I felt the same about my polar bear. I like him, but he's not exactly what I wanted.
I have a digital postal scale that I bought on ebay (new) for less than $30 with shipping. I use it and through USPS click n ship I can print my own labels. It's very convenient. Just make sure the scale is for postal use.
I have been experimenting with a pattern for a polar bear and this is the result. He is not exactly as I wanted, but I made him with a synthetic fur rather than mohair so I'm not wasting the good stuff. I do see changes that need to be made i.e. more foot and less behind. I think I will also add claws. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That is amazing. But I could never complete such a work. I would eat my art project about half way through. Watermelon is my favorite food.
I must have been dreaming that I am a bear. Over the holidays I was getting ready for hibernation. Now I guess I have to wake up to reality.
Hello Juliet,
I totally understand where you are. I also feel like I have neglected this area. I have been struggling through the holidays. I am actually so glad to have them behind me and looking forward to spring. So, welcome back.
p.s. You are not a pain. But I am no help with the pictures. When it comes to computer things, I am not the one to ask. Even if I know how to do something, I can't seem to explain it to someone.
