Oh, thank you so very much Aleta and Judi!! You must have been posting the same time I was! Judi, I am SO honored, especially since this is the home that they are custom building just for themselves. I'm thrilled that they think I'm good enough, especially since I second guess and doubt myself so much! It's a nice feeling.

Thank you so much, Lisa and Eva.
You are both supposed to be replying to my other post, too, about Star Wars!!!
I am having the hardest time with that, I swear! lol Lisa, how cool would that be to paint a mural in your son's room?! Go for it if you are at all artistically inclined with paint!
Kimberly W.
Thank you Carolyn, Marlys, and Kerrilyn!
Kerrilyn, I had the scaffolding that you see in the last photo. It certainly made things A LOT easier for painting! Plus, I think I would have been a bit of a scaredy cat to crawl all the way up there on a rickety ladder to paint!
I did a mural in my son's room (used to be the girls' room) of a day/night landscape; I fear I'll have to cover it over as well when we move. Maybe who ever buys our house will like it too!

Hi Marg,
Yes, I keep hearing about this trash compactor scene. Apparently it's an interesting part of the movies... I think the problem that I've run into is that every different area of the Death Star looks completely unlike the other, which is maybe why when I WOULD find pics on the internet, I'd be confused. So, now I'm perhaps stuck on WHICH area to do! I think I may need to end up sketching out several different ideas and then presenting it to them...
Kimberly W.
Thank you, Chloe and Tami! Tami, sure! Next time I'm in the area!!
Chloe, surprisingly my arms and neck didn't hurt at all the whole time! It wasn't until I was just about finished, when I was painting the highlighted 'silver lining' to the last cloud that my arm started to ache a little, but by then I only had about another 10 minutes of work or so to do... I really thought it was going to be a 'pain-in-the-neck'!
I think it wasn't as bad because it's a dome, so I wasn't looking striaght up most of the time.

Hi all! I just wanted to share this mural I was commissioned to do. It is painted in the foyer of a home being built in my area. She wanted the clouds to have a deep 'slightly stormy look' (but not menacing) with a touch of sunset, but not overdone with color. You probably can't see them in the photos, but the names of the family members are hidden in the clouds. I had such a great time doing this; I feel lucky to have been chosen to do the work! On to pics:
Here is a detail picture:
You can see the dome in the upper left hand corner of this pic:
Next on the agenda, Star Wars theme in the son's playroom!
Thanks for letting me share!

Hee hee hee, Nancy, I sew while I watch movies too. OKay, then Return of the Jedi sounds like the movie I need to watch. I'm so excited to do this mural; I just wish I knew more about Star Wars now! LOL Ask me about Lord of the Rings and I'm on it, but Star Wars, not so much...
Kimberly W.
P.S. Anyone know which movie had the 'jail cell' on the Death Star scene??
Oh my gosh, that is one of the BEST stories I've heard in a while! I love t!! What a great guy Joel is for being compassionate and helping momma duck!! :)
Kimberly W.
LOL Kerilyn, I was thinking the same thing! I thought, "Geez NOONE watched Star Wars?? I thought I was one of the ONLY people who HADN'T seen Star Wars!" hee hee Thanks so much for the info, so I need to watch Episode 4, most likely? I had heard that in Return of The Jedi, is was pretty much all 'on land'... Did they go in the Death Star in that one? Return of The Jedi sounds like a fun time to watch, but I need the best reference as well. :)
Thanks so much for your help, it is REALLY appreciated!!

Yeah, I'm not sure what Rocky would do without her. Inside the house he's fine. He's learned where all the furniture is and doesn't run into anything unless we forget and move something without 'letting him know'. But outside, he's wandered before and realized he's gone too far and can't figure out how to get back (mind you, he's only just outside our yard) and Charlie will run over there, herd him and push him back into our yard and closer to the house.
And some people say animals are dumb and don't have feelings!
Charlie is the brown one; Rocky, the black.
Kimberly W.
Oh my goodness! She's SO sweet and adorable! And she looks so tiny! Hard to believe that a year ago, my baby was that little
Congratulations!
Kimberly W.
Congratulations, Kim!!! She is SOOO darling! Your best creation yet!!
Kimberly W.
Awww, so sweet! Our dog, Rocky, has been blind most of his life. He's almost 10 years old and was hit by a car when he was 6 months. Our other dog, Charlie, is his seeing-eye dog and she 'herds' him when he loses his way, leading him back to where he should be (in our yard).

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be doing a mural in a boy's playroom and he wants it to be painted like the inside of the Death Star, complete with the 'Jail Cell' and some characters. I'm so excited!! I've already done a mural in a dome that is over their foyer (I'll be putting pics in a topic here in General if anyone's interested later!)
Can anyone informed about Star Wars please direct me to which movie I need to watch that will have the best and/or most screen shots of inside the Death Star? Of even maybe a site where I can see a lot of pictures of inside the Death Star?
Thanks SO much for any info, in advance!!

Oh my gosh Chloe, I'm horribly jealous! What a fantastic trip; thank you so much for sharing all of those wonderful pictures with us!
My personal faves: the Elephant Calf (Elephants are one of most favorite animals, and that story you told about the calf was just too cute!) and the sunset over the dam. Breathtaking!
Lovely lovely!!!!

Lisa, I can't add anything new here... Everyone's said it well!! I do hope that at some point, you feel that flicker of excitement well up in you when you think of making another bear. It's sad to ever hear that a bear artist is going to stop creating, but I do know how you feel about needing to be passionate and happy about what you do. Big hugs to you, and I hope to see you again creating!
Kimberly W.
I just noticed this thread; I'm all excited to see your bear too! Nothing wrong with 'strange'... everyone has different tastes!!! In a way, ALL of our bears are 'strange', whether they are not traditional colors, anime style, big feet, etc.... Let's see that bear! :)
Kimberly W.
Eyes first, I'm with Kim Basta... I have a set place where the eyes go.
Then if I'm embroidering - nose next, mouth last. If I'm needlefelting, nose last... after mouth.
Ears are ALWAYS the last thing on my bear, and I dare not pin them on... it's kind of like the incentive to see it all finished... :)
Kimberly W.
I always attach the head first, then the legs, then the arms. I found early on that, because of my 'filling hole' placement on the back of the bear, if I do the arms first, the darned joints get in the way when trying to do the legs. Hence, legs first! ....and (I think) I do left leg, right leg, left arm, right arm always. Dunno why though!
Kimberly W.
Jenny, that is SO wonderful of you to do this for charity. I could kick myself for having not peeked in the Showcase or, as a matter of fact on TT enough as of late... I missed putting in for my tickets. sigh... If you ever have the inkling to do a draw like this again, please let me know. She's just beautiful...
Kimberly W.
Fantastic work, Lisa! You did a simply wonderful job on him. I think he would do very well!
Kimberly W.
Thank you all so much! We are so lucky to have found Charlie, she's truly a great dog!
Kimberly W.
Thank you all sooo much. We rescued Charlie from the shelter and she's so wonderful. She has really settled right in to our family and I just can't see how anyone would have wanted to let her go! As you can see, she really loves the kids too! She was picked up as a stray and never claimed. She'd sat at the shelter for 2 months when we found her. We love her!

OK, this is the last photo of Samuel I'll bug you all with for now, but I just really wanted to share!
