For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
He is just so cute, you are a lucky Mum Kim...
I have embroided the last two real fur bears noses but one that is on the e-bay waiting queue has a glued on nose.....much easier to apply than the stitched one as what you mentioned sometimes the hide is a little soft...
Jane, the piccies are terrific and just to see, as well as the bears, the way different artists set up the tables... super job..
Great piccies Patsy, we do have some pretty Australian Birds...
I just clicked on your e-bay icon and both little darlings came up...
What a sweet face this little critter has, he is absolutely gorgous...love him too..
Sometimes buying a complete kit is the best way to go at first. Everything you need is there and once you get the hang of it you can then get your own supplies...
Or even getting a craft book that has projects in it, they have the full instructions as well on completing the bear...
Can't help with the thumbnails as I am still learning what to do on this computer but how to improve your bears.....keep at it, ask advice, lots of friends here will help with any questions and try new things....when I first came here my bears were pretty basic, but now I will have a go at needle-sculptering scissor-sculptering and shading as the advice from here has been so positive....
I generally go to our local store. It is called the Warehouse and I can get rolls of ribbons all colours and width for about AUD$2 per roll...
Lisa, well done he sure is awesome. As for hubby thinking your mad, a lot of family and friends just don't understand bearmakers and their love and obsession with these critters....join the club...
When I do the muzzle on my needlefelted bears I do a sepearate piece and when I am happy with the shape I then needlefelt it onto the head. Some people build up the needlefelting on the muzzle but it would not work for me...
purrrrrfect kitty cat, she is gorgous...
Thats okay, 2 can swap..
Marlys, the piccie has arrived and she is one gorgous bear.
I will participate Krista, have sent you a pm..
Sorry, seems to be a problem, no image....
Your a gem Deb.....
Wow, yes please if you have any left after all the requests.... will email you now.
Your an angel to do this....Deborah
Cheryl and Denise recieved your lovely cards with lots of spilling little things enclosed. Thank-you..... the sad bit is no more cards to come..... when is the next special occasion, easter I guess....
You poor thing, BUT good for you...
Commissions can be stressful and that is why I prefer not to do any. Trying to make bears with certain request takes away the freedom of creating each one. Just my thoughts.
Good luck, and if you are running out of time just let the customer know this and they should understand.
after all, 8 bears such a lot in that time frame...
1. e-bay
2. craft shows/markets
3. return customers.
It has taken me a good 12 months to be recognised on e-bay, and I like it as opposed to craft shows or markets because I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn and worry about the weather and putting up a shelter. As the markets are all outdoors.
What could be better, I am sitting here now in the PJ's, and no one can see me....
So e-bay for me at the moment..
That has answered something I have been wondering about. How do the patterns in the magazines be so straight and correct, as when I am drawing up my patterns the lines are not perfect.... sometimes a bit "skew wiff.."
Yahooo, way to go SarahJane....
Not sure but am going to visit him in March so will investigate and bring back the results...
Aleta and Chrissie, THANK-YOU for the lovely cards..... they are much appreciated..
