Hi.

Sometimes when I sew a bear head, the middle seam under the nose, its just a bit off center.

I have never figured out why this happens, do you know why ?
I'm talking of the seam under the nose, hope you know what I'm talking about   bear_rolleyes

Hi everyone,

I was taken to the emergency room on wednesday night.  My family thought that I had a stroke but I have Bell's Palsy.  My left side of my face from my forehead to my chin is paralyzed.  I can't smile, move my eyebrow, or close my eyelid.  I can't even taste food. I can't even taste chocolate ... that's cruel, cause I love chocolate.

Has anyone ever had this condition and how did the doctor treat you.  The hospital gave me prednisone.  They told me that it might take 2 to 4 weeks to get better.

I was preparing for a craft fair that will be next saturday.  I won't going now.

bear hugs,
Sheila

Hi Sheila.

I have had that years back, it was not fun at all. But after some weeks, I think it was 2-3 is dissapeared
with no medicin at all. Everything was normal, but while it was there is was a bit scaring.

I hope you'll be fine very soon and then you can eat a full box of chocolate    bear_laugh

kind regards
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I have sold one bear on Bearpile so far and this has been my experience....
I received an email that I had an order. When I viewed the order, I had the purchasers name and contact information: name, address, phone number and email address.  I too expected payment quickly as I previously sold on Ebay and was used to a quick payment. I sent three emails and no response. I finally called her and left a message.  As it turned out, my emails were going to her spam folder and she was waiting to hear from me before she made her payment. She thanked me for being patient and still wanted my bear. I received an immediate payment and her bear was on its way to her.  Everyone was happy.  All emails were made between our private email accounts, not through Bearpile, which gives me access to all communications between us. I was ready to give up on the sale and thought it might be a scam and was glad I didn't. Thanks to everyone here helping me, I didn't give up.  If you have a question about Bearpile, you can also use their forum and ask questions there. The other artists there are also more than willing to help. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer, hm...mm, maybe I should call her, but I'm better in writing IMO that talking  bear_laugh

Hi Lisa,
I've had a couple of sales on Bearpile, and one was like Cindy's - no response to my email after the sale, so I also called the lady and had had internet problems and paid me immediately.  Interesting about your Ebay comment though, I've tried four times in the past year to sell on Ebay again and I've had problems with EVERY sale.  Took me almost a month to get payment for the first two sales, third one never paid and I am in the middle of another "non paying bidder complaint" right now.  Ever since they changed the feedback system, the buyers just don't care if they pay or not.

Hi.

thanks for the answer, my own bear selling is before the change.
Ebay sellers are not that happy anymore, we don't get much help there  bear_sad

Hi.

I was reading about some Paypal fraud/ problems ? What is that ?
I got nervous, but do I have to be ?
I have used paypal for years and never had a problem   bear_cry

It was listd like a paypal/Bear Pile problem and I don't understand it ???

lisaastrup

Hi.

I joined Bear Pile 4 days ago, and then yesterday I got a notice that I had a sale.

I rushed back and contacted the woman with info and paypal ID, but now I have not got payment
or heard back - I'm worried, is that normal ?

When I sell on ebay I use to get payment right away  ;)

Allso on on BP, I can't see mails I have sent, how do I keep track on them then ?     bear_whistle

lisaastrup

Hi Joanne.

Thanks, but how do you then end/stop it ? Same way out too ?

lisaastrup

Hi.

When I sew stitches for claws I feel its a bit unsecure, how do you fasten the thread on a secure way ?
If its a thick mohair is not a probem to hide the knot, but if its sparse or very short pile ?

lisaastrup

Oh, she is cute - and a nice handbag too.

lisaastrup

Hi all.

Thanks for all your kind comments and advice given. I have joined Bearpile now and then I'll just wait and see what happens.
Coming back to bears on the worst time I can see, but then it can only get better, right   bear_thumb

lisaastrup

For me too, Lisa! My finger joints just won't do it anymore - - -LLLLLLL
They still struggle w/the minis but honestly cannot make anything larger than about 3" to 4" at the largest (but now in Needle Felting for the past decade.)
It's the sense of proportion in the design end; anything larger and I just don't have the right combination in my mind's eye.

Yes, we get older don't we    bear_rolleyes  but its fine, I just had my 60 birthsdag in August.

Long ago I bought a needlefelting kit from you, an icebear and he went out just fine, I love your
needlefelted animals.

Sometimes I needlefelt a bit too, have done some dogs and bears.

lisaastrup

under 2", OH no - that time has passed, but they are super cute.    bear_happy

Hi Sarah & Laura.

Great, then I can still make mini's  bear_grin  and even a bit bigger than now.

Glad you like my Henry, I think I'll try to order some long pile mini fabric from Sassy bear_thumb

lisaastrup

Hi Michelle

What a good idee, maybe I'll try that one  bear_original

Hi girls.

I have worked on Alfred today and made some changes as suggested yesterday,
I hope it shows on the photos , its was hard to get them really good - but I hope you can see it.

Alfred got a new nose, shading here and thereon the muzzle, ears, paws and eyes and he got
a new tee dyed collar with a silk ribbon.

Just wanted to know, what is the max size on a mini ?

I love mini's but I can't see to make the very tiny ones anymore   bear_cry

I have just made one who is 5" and I think he is a mini   bear_whistle

lisaastrup

Thanks girls, so nice with advice and good comments.

I think I'll try Bearpile and some changes on Alfred, I have started with the shading and a new nose.    bear_happy
