Dear friend,
I am now working as a correspondant for a local newspaper. This morning, there was a whole page full of my article (three big ones) and it made me feel so proud!!!
I still have to scan it to show around, hehehehehe.
Now, I need to get ready. I am going out tonight for a new article about a theatre troup.
Links to read my articles (in French, sorry) :

That first one in out of the area I am supposed to cover, but as I planned to go harvesting vines there, I asked to do it.

What i fancy a lot with that job is that it opens me lots of doors.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Thanks, dear friends.
I already made a black bear with blue eyes. It is just that I do not know what to think about putting together blue eyes and apricot orange nose on a black bear.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Hi dear friends!
Yesterday evening, we just got an email from Malko's cousin saying she will come around with her son for a few days from the 24th of october. As I promised a teddy bear to her son (who is a teddy bear lover), I have to be fast making him one. Oh, please, do not laugh, I am not like some of you who can make a teddy bear in one or two days. i am pretty slow.
I chose a black synthetic fur, and orange colour for his nose and paw&foot pads.
Do you think there would be something odd in giving that bear blue eyes?
Many thanks,
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
PS : argh, I must stop my knitting... I was busy playing with my loom to make hats.
Hi,
I know nothing about this issue but I just want to send you big hugs and tell you I will cross my fingers for you to have a speedy recovery.

Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Hi Bonnie!
I think you should try with http://www.webs.com
This is really very easry to use. You do not need to pay unless you want to get rid of the adds on top of you website pages. Now if you use Firefox, you will not even see these adds!
Just have a look and see!
I used it for my own website and am happy with it.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.

I succeeded! See my new thread "Good news".
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Dear friends,
Please, do the happy dance with me  because I am now "officially" local correspondant for the weekly newspaper "Le Petit Courrier du Val de Loir".
That's not enough to live on, but better than nothing at all. I consider that job as a pleasant way to build a social network and discover and rediscover my geographic zone.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Thanks, my dear friends!
I found a subject for my very first article. I just hope it will be accepted.
I will talk about the coming inauguration of the part of the street in my village where they buried the electric and phone cables and put beautiful lamps.
Not that exciting subject, but I was short in time to find a subject plus the other correspondant was first "arrived" on another idea I had!
In a house in my village where there will be an auction (early afternoon today) where they sell lots of stuff (the house itself is for sell (not in auction) and they want to get rid of all what's inside. So I will ask if they accept me to make a very short article (maybe just a photo and a few lines).
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Hi everybody!
I am just back from my interview and it all went well.
The journalist is a very nice guy, about my age or not much more.
He put me on a testing period.
So I must write at least one long article before tuesday midday. I already have a few ideas (pfew). If he is happy with this or these article(s), he will "take" me as a local correspondant.
This is not a well paid job, as the correspond is paid according to what he wrote. I should earn between 200 and 400 euros per month.
But I think this can be very exciting.
Plus it will be a way to meet lots of people and might help me find another proper job.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Thanks to all of you for your wishes.
I will have my interview this afternoon.
I will get back to you asap.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Still waiting to hear back from that guy to know when he wants to meet me...
He must be busy.
I must be patient.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Brilliant!!!!!!!! Oh dear, he is so tiny!
You must have fairy powder inside your blood.
Thanks for sharing!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Dear Louise,
I think that is a brilliant idea to sell an elephant pattern. yours are so cute! Now, I think the same as the others : better not be a pattern you still use.
I really hope andrew will soon find a loving home.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.

Doing the happy dance with you, Eva! Well done!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Hi everybody!
I have been a bit missing in action these last month, sorry about it. My mood has been playing up a lot.
I am now getting back to making teddy bears, remotivated, so that's great.
I applied a few days ago for a job of correspondant for a local journal and recieved an answer a moment ago. They want to meet me to discuss the job. I guess many of you do know how much I love playing reporter for you, so needless to write you a book about how much I would love such a job.
Many of you may also know how desperate I am getting for finding a job. This is one of the reason I often feel depressed.
So I would really do with a big amount of luck vibes for that interview. I still do not know when it will be but will let you know as soon as I can.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Hi Cyndee!
It is great to see you back...

Sophie.
Hi you!
I just sent you a request to be friend with you!!!!

Beary hugs,
Sophie.
This afternoon, I was busy at my computer when the door bell rang. I opened the window to ask who's there and saw a handfull of children, the oldest one with a wee kitty in her hands.
They explained me they were trying to know who that kitty belonged to and it looked like it was an abandonned one.
I went downstairs, called Malko and we went to see the children and kitty. They explained they could not keep the kitty and ask if we could look after him. He was so cute we did not resist.
We took him home and promised the children we would take great care of him. I invited them to come back in a few days to get some news about the kitty.
The kitty is obviously very very young. I would not be surprised he was still nursing. His eyes are still baby colour but beginning to change to greyish.
He (this is a boy) looks in good health and does not seem to have fleas ( ). We named him Osiris.
He eats well (I gave him cat milk and a little bit of "wet" cat food).
I will take him to the vet tomorrow afternoon to have him checked.
He is still shy but purs a lot when we pet him.
Our other cat Anubis does not look over pleased to see an intruder in HER house, but she will have to deal with that!
Osiris between my legs. That is the only photo I have so far. I will wait for tomorrow to take more.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Sorry, I just noticed the post is still there on the French forum... I just did not search it well. Probably because my stomach was empty.
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
I just joined that French forum.
It looks like the subject about Teddy talk has been removed...
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
I am glad I found this thread.
I happened to exchange a few emails with Eric but could not really make an opinion about him. He looked like someone very nice.
Now as a French artist, I can comment a little bit on Eric's comment.
I definitely do not agree with him when he says this forum is not a nice place to be. I really love this forum.
I often feel frustrated when I do not get many comments on my bears, but I think it is just because people do not have time to comment!
I guess one can feel lost in such a forum as we are so many members...
People here are very friendly and I just regret I cannot have enough time to "meet" better more people from TT.
I made great friends thanks to TT.
It looks like nowadays TT users give less time to TT because many of us now have a website plus at least one blog plus facebook, which means many of us are in the need of dividing their free time in more small pieces!
We get GREAT ADVICES on TT. Our library is full of useful tips.
Now we must accept that some tips are kept secret by artists. All is a matter of CHOICES. Everybody is free to share or not share. We are so numerous that one eventually get an answer to his/her question.
TT is a nest of friendly people, not a cage of wild beasts!
Now, lets talk about teddy bears in France : collector teddy bears are not much known in France and it is still very hard to find a market there. I guess it is just a matter of time and of educating people!
French teddy bear artists took a very long time to take the plunge to communicate between each other outside shows through internet. I did not know that forum Eric commented in...
We do not have many teddy bear shows but recently a new one was created. To my knowledge, we have three in Paris every year : Gueules de Miel and 2xParis creation (two different dates), one in Normandy (the only I can afford so far), one in Arpaillargues (the one Eric Petit organizes), which is too far for me, and the new one in La Rochelle (I will try it in a few years).
There are foreign artists attending them, but the number of foreign artists is related to the available space.
For example, the teddy bear show in Normandy is a small one with less than 40 exhibitors. I think this year's was the first with over 20 exhibitors and some had to be outside because the room was too small. A chance the weather was warm and sunny!
Most visitors coming to French teddy bear shows are not collectors and came "because they saw some light" or just for the eye candy...
Now I spotted some "mad" (I mean mad about bears) collectors spending almost a whole day at the show and buying lots of bears, piling up bags... So there are some collectors...
Anyway, to sum up I love TT!!!!!!!!
Beary hugs,
Sophie.
Dear friends,
On my website, my link page looks like a big mess, so I would love everybody to send me his/her link and banner to update it. I will only put banner for a better look.
So to whoever wants to be on my link page, please do so!

Beary hugs,
Sophie.
