Sue Ann - in my humble opinion - this work is OUTSTANDING.

If they don't like it  - send them to Specsavers.

What size is each piece and are they mohair?  Scrummy whatever.

(My 3D embroidered bees would have found a beehome)

I've seen some really beautiful things here on TT - but I have to say................

THIS IS AWESOME

WOW-WEEEEEE

James - can I have lessons?.......................  That's BRILLIANT.............

Chowlea Bears

If anyone isn't sure - I can highly recommend Nancy's classes.

They are easy to use - extremely well designed with excellent visuals and lots of extra help should you need it.

I'm a retired teacher myself - so I tend to look at classes perhaps a little more closely than a prospective student might.

Enjoy ............

Oh MY .....................Doesn't she look good in blue

Seriously - I'm so glad she's on the mend and the family is recovering from the shock.  Its not just what happened I always think but what's even worse is the fact you feel sooooooooo helpless.

She will be jumping about all over the place before you know it. They don't seem to be troubled by the things we human fret over.

Are the pins temporary or permanent?

Chowlea Bears

How's your little dog coming along?

After a really shitty day from hell - this is BRILLIANT NEWS.

Excuse my language - there's just no other description.............................

Chowlea Bears

Way to go Sprite - where've you been? Making everyone worry so.............

Hope your adventure was worth it

Chowlea Bears

Good grief girl - it could only happen to you

Chowlea Bears

I'd like to thank everyone whose posted on this thread - I've really enjoyed it and learned from it.

Its amazing to see that everyone's identifiable characteristics were there right from the start - kinda scary too- you all seem to have hit the ground running.

It seems that you've all refined your techniques whilst staying true to your original idea.

That my humble opinion anyhow

Chowlea Bears

Its all over the news here in the UK.

We can relate because of Dumblane some years ago - its absolutely unimaginable- yet it continues to happen to innocent children. You'd think they would be safe in school.  It seem even more horrid to have happened to the Amish community who are world famous for their peace loving God-fearing way of life. (One of my aims in life is to own an Amish quilt- trivial in the light of things I know)  I sincerely hope the community heals and they don't view all outsiders as bad people.

My thoughts are with the victims' families including the wife and children of the man who did this - how is she feeling? - how does she explain to her children?   What the hell is happening to the world - excuse my language.....................

Chowlea Bears

What a dreadful thing to happen -  so very disappointing for your buyer and hair pulling for you. I'm sure she realises its beyond your control.

What about poor Sprite - stuck in a dark hole somewhere waiting for a cuddle......................

Don't you find the postal service sooooooooo helpful at times like these - couldn't you just throttle them.  They have no sense of urgency at all but then they have your money regardless - what do they care!!!!!!!!!!

Chowlea Bears

Three cheers for all...............

I hope I'll have gained the confidence to participate next year. Give me plenty of warning though because I'm really slow at making.

Chowlea Bears

Oh my - she's been at it again

I wish I saw the world like Penny does - my slant on life's a bit normal and boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I borrow your glasses Penny?

Hi all!  My first post to look at after introducing myself in the "new members"... and it's about a "friend" of mine from the doll-makers' list I'm a member of!  It's she wonderful!?!?  All of her dolls are great, but this one is breath-taking!

I hope you'll tell the lady were all drooling - in my case - a lottery win this weekend wouldn't come amiss.

Doesn't it make you cry  - you sort of suspend belief for a while.

The amount of work and technical skill that has gone into this is awesome.

Makes me feel quite inadequate...........maybe I have other talents????????????????

Chowlea Bears

I'm not a doll expert but I'm afraid I read everything - even the cereal packets at breakfast.....................

anyway.............

I recently bought The International Doll Collectors' Magazine.the talent on display is UNBELIEVABLE - to think people actually create that stuff is amazing.
Its a bi-monthly I believe

Let us see your results please  :photo:  I'll probably get into trouble about that as its not bears and all - but ..................

Quy - could we have an off-topic section for miscellaneous items etc maybe?????????????????

Chowlea Bears

I've really enjoyed this thread - Thank You everyone for posting.

I've done needlework stuff all my life - being taught by my Grandmother as she made stage costumes for shows etc. I taught it for a while too.

I love to do Tatting, but my arthritic fingers grumble.  My cross stitch designing has given way to three-dimensional embroidery (like the butterfly on my bear Muaga) and I do a lot of Goldwork embroidery but the price of gold currently means this is quite expensive and I have to ration myself to special pieces.

My Bearmaking - well that's work in progress.................

I don't have pics I'm sorry - But I'll take some in the future if anyone is interested.

Oh I forgot - I grow Orchids too.

Chowlea Bears

Many congratulations to all the winners.

Wonderful work.

Chowlea Bears

Wonderful pics.   Everyone obviously enjoyed a  truly special day.

Beautiful pics - I've never seen a montage like that before.  Thank you for sharing your family moments.

Chowlea Bears

Thinking of you both.

Take care you don't run yourself into the ground...................

You kidding - right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love your website - easy to navigate and easy on the eye.  The photos are a nice touch too.

Chowlea Bears

I think your initial explanation of the issues answers your own question.

When you ask these questions my experience has been that you know its right really.

Its surprising how animals cope with limb/eye removal - they don't have the 'hangups' we humans have and they have three other limbs to compensate.

I feel confident all will be well because you've considered all sides of the problem.

Let us know please.......................

(Hope I didn't sound too preachy........)

Chowlea Bears

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has organised this.

Very much appreciated.....................
