Me again - just thought of something else which is well worth a visit - The Globe theatre (London, just south of the river) - it's the old actual Shakespeare theatre rebuilt, and is quite magical!
Wish I could think of more - I was born in London, many moons ago(!) but it's ages since I lived there!

Good grief, Tracy - we normally get a fair bit of snow here - tho' this winter seems set to be the warmest and WETTEST on record...it has been more stormy than usual - last week thunder and hail storms, but nothing like your snow!
And yes. when it melts down, it can get VERY messy - if it thaws really quickly, then you can expect flooding - worst here in W.Europe is when the Alpine snow cover melts rapidly - the Rhine tends to get overloaded, and, as happened a few years back, a lot of people in the Netherlands have to move !!!
I'm intrigued tho' - we got a lot of reports last week of the really bad storms in Georgia and surrounds - maybe there aren't any TTers in that area?
Right now, I envy you the snow - it is very wet and muddy here, and I'm just contemplating scrubbing the floors - with a huge dog and a couple of cats - is it worth it???

Tracey....Jane mentioned the show at the Alexandra Palace in October...she must have blinked a few weeks back (!) when it was announced that the show would be NO MORE....a great shame, but a sign of the times!

Neumann and Spies never answer e-mails (well, certainly as far as my experience goes!) - as for them understanding little English - I'm not so sure.....and well - they don't rate on my list of "favourite people" shall we say....
I imagine the website will get entry forms up, after the current Ted worldwide is sorted And like I said, I'll grab some foms next weekend, and send them, or scans, to whoever is iinterested.

Me again....
I just looked at a left-over entry form from last year, and it IS all in english....I'll grab a handful of forms next weekend, if anyone wants one

Walter Neumann & co seem to be bombarding those of us who have entered before with any number of e-mails - like Ellen, I've had lots in the last couple of days! Strange that it isn't in english on the website, as the comp. entry form HAS to be filled out in English!

Eliza.....I seem to be following you round the site!
E-mail Kathy Martin for a start, at the Teddy Bear Scene - send her a pic or two for the "whats new " section......won't cost anything, and I bet she prints one! Worth a TRY!

Not exactly destructive, but I just have to pass on a story of a Close Encounter with a Galah - it happened years back, in the dark ages, before I discovered contact lenses......anyway , we were at a dinner party with friends who had a pet Galah......after we'd more or less finished eating, the bird was let loose....he happily wandered round the dinner table, scoffing grapes, and finally came face to face with me....and had an absolute ball, scribbling, with his VERY sticky beak, all over the lenses of my glasses!!! This, I have to add , was much less painful than his "trick"- he would cuddle up on your shoulder and then proceed to carefully pull hairs out of the back of your neck...OUCH!

Me too, Sophie - I'm not exactly the praying sort, but I'm sending LOTs of positive thoughts your way,
and wish you the strength to get through such a trying time....I SO hope all goes well with Patrice

Wow, Patsy - I think I'd be another one who would get NO work done - just sit watching all the birds, all day long. We never had so many birds in our garden, when I lived in Perth - something to do with the cats???? Even so - the Galahs will always be my favourites - they seem to be natural clowns, and I'm sure they have a well-developed sense of humour (or is it devilment?!).
Right now we have greenfinches feeding - usually a sign of an impending cold snap.....

Hiya
a couple more magazines you might like to consider...
Teddy Bear Scene has a regular "What's New " feature, and Kathy Martin, the editor, tries her level best to print as many pics as possible...she's at kathym@warnersgroup.co.uk - nice lady!!!
And then Teddy Bear Club International - they have an "Around the World" feature - editor Kirste (another nice lady!) is at kirste@ashdown.co.uk
Both worth a try - your little bears are SO nice, I'm sure we'll be seeing them in print soon!

Hi Catherine
Can I suggest, once again, that you think about doing a show? Yes - it isn't cheap, but it gives you something to focus on... making a good selection of bears, planning your display..... It is a bit frustrating, as you need to take a fair few bears along, and probably WON'T sell them all. BUT the advantages...you'll have lots of fun, meet other bear artists and get feed-back from the public. I look on shows as a well-earned treat for me - a day or two of wallowing in bears, and thoroughly enjoying myself...any sales are an added bonus!
As for advertisng - I don't as a rule - I did take out a small ad in the TBS, before last year's Hugglets show - but one-eighth of a page actually costs more than a year's subscription to the magazine!
The other way of getting noticed is to enter competitions - I remembere a few years back being told by a very successful German artist "I never advertise, just enter competitions" - at the time I thought "all right for you, you always win"...but it has worked for me!
I'll grab a handful of comp. entry forms at Wiesbaden, and pass them onto anyone who wants one....
Of course, you can always send photos to the various magazines - Kathy Martin at the TBS certainly tries to print as many as possible in her "what's new " pages...
It's difficult not to get discouraged at times, but I find that the bear scene has a touch of "expect the unexpected" - new customers seem to pop up out of the blue ....
keep thinking positive!!!
