Oh brilliant Pipa!
I wonder where all these funny emails originate from? Do people sit around in an office somewhere and spend hours thinking them up - must be a great place to work!
Penny

Men always like to think that they can drive, map read and use the computer better than anyone else (for anyone read women here). I don't drive but i can find my way around everywhere i go whilst my hubby gets lost two blocks away from home and can't read a map to save his life whereas i'm brilliant at it - and he can't even turn the computer on - haw haw haw, revenge is SWEET!
Glad to have you back Millie
Penny
I would never produce a bear that looked like me - it would'nt be fair on the bear
Kim - if i looked like you honey i'd be off chasing Brad Pitt or George Clooney - GOSH YOU'RE GORGEOUS!
Penny
Only did one bear fair but before that i used to make stained glass and other stuff for years so i think i may be able to advise you Clare.
Make sure you have bags/packaging for every item you have to sell on your table - ok you may not sell them all but you just might so be prepared (nothing worse than not having correct packaging, does'nt impress)
Always have business cards - cheap ones for just leaving on the table for folks to take (try www.vistaprint.com for freebies - only pay postage) - keep good ones for popping into the bags with the bears when they have been sold
Pens - markers - stickers - receipt book - inventory of bears you have for sale so you can tick them off when sold
Have a printed page available so people can read about you and your work, mention all triumphs no matter how small - i still remember the tale of your Grandad's sewing machine so don't forget to include that
Probably lot's of stuff that i've forgotton but you can't go wrong with the basics Clare

Rita my love.
Let me begin by giving you my knee jerk reaction to your news.........
What an absolute bastard! - i'm allowed to use that word it's in the dictionary and in lots of fine literary works. I hope that you can find it in yourself give him hell once you get over the initial shock of his low down, two-timing, treating you like a doormat betraying ways.
Now here's my more measured opinion.
I have'nt read all the posting's here but i've read yours, the girls will no doubt have given you lots of really good advice and i can only suggest that you do what you think is best in your circumstances.
You say that you are 51 - well hell Rita that's young nowadays. If you have to get a job to earn money you'll get one; it sounds to me like you ran everything anyway so you must be able to offer good management skills to a future employer.
There is nothing worse than being made to feel like a discarded piece of clothing - but you are not worn out - out of fashion or made of cheap cloth. It sound's like you trusted this man implicitly, he's the one who's cheap and nasty not you.
For Gods Sake - how many women are told that they are too young! What a load of old cobblers! as we say here in Blighty. He cheated on you and now he's trying to find a reason to blame you for his actions -
tell him to shove his head where the sun don't shine and not to go around blaming you for his immaturity
Rita, i truly hope that i have'nt upset you but i always speak my mind - i also offer you to come and visit with us here if you just really really want to get away, hop on a plane to London and we'll come and pick you up - stay as long as yu want, we've got stacks of space
Thinking of you and i'll be praying for your hubbies thingy to drop off through gangrene
Your Pal,
Penny
Blessed are the geeks, for they shall internet the Earth
Well Done Louise & Garnet it must of taken you ages - welcome to the world of geeks
- don't worry i consider myself the biggest geek of all time, spending hours on the computer
Love the graphics, are they from the Graphic Garden?
Penny
Amanda this is GREAT!
I did'nt know you had posted a piccie or i would have said how much i love it earlier.
Thank you sooo much for such a super bear
Penny
A truly beautiful bear Marie - made even more lovely by the caring thought behind it.
Thank you Marie
Penny
I would be more than happy to get a bear of yours Kim,
It does'nt matter that you are pretty new to bear making - when you are a world reknowned bear artist i shall be able to say that i have one of your 'early' bears - just like they do about famous artists paintings
Penny
OK - here's my take on this discussion
I will make a bear of my own design, i don't care who gets it, how much it cost to produce etc etc and i don't care who's bear i get.
Can't we just stick to the original idea of making a bear that we, the artist's like and just swap with anyone who's name comes out of the hat with ours?
This is only my personal opinion and i aint necessarily disagreeing with all the above points you all have made, but it seems that half the fun is going to go out of it.
I like a gamble and besides, i don't think anyone here is a crappy bearmaker so would be more than happy just to swap. If people feel that they might be getting a bum deal surely they just won't bother to join in?
Penny
I don't mean to upset anyone with my views - i really really don't care who's bear i get
Ebay is nuts - always has been and i suspect always will be
jewels would be okay on the outside but a bit scratchy on the inside of a bra - you'd look pretty odd if you wore it under a t-shirt though, all those bumps
