Teddy Talk: Creating, Collecting, Connecting

Oh Dear    i was going to be sooo good in 2007 - no spending my money willy-nilly and trying to save ho ho hoo! What a joke!

I just treated myself to a couple of gorgeous little bears to add to my collection before 2007 hit to save myself from failing at the first hurdle with my resolutions........but, will i be able to control my beary urges in the new year?

Lawks a'mussy! I reckon i'm a lost cause already but i SO want some new bears for my collection - i did'nt buy any in 2006 so am a good girl really ain't i?

Here's a couple of pics of my new cuddlywuddlies by Nicky Bears - the artist is from South Africa originally and now lives in the UK. Does anyone know of Nicky?

PenPens New Years Resolutions are.........

Eat less - Drink more
Lose weight - Gain bags under my eyes
Stop singing when out in public (i get some real funny looks but always manage to get to the front of queues quicker so maybe it's not such a bad thing after all)
Learn to keep my mouth shut (this will be the hardest of all)
Only wear nice clothes even if i am just lolling around at home - throw out all housecoats/dressing gowns as they are far too tempting to keep on all day long.........lazy lazy lazy
Enjoy myself more
Get the crap off of the top of my curtains more often - disgusting!
Start saving money ha ha ho ho hee hee

learning to use Macromedia Flash
making more cats and bears and dolls, painting and drawing more often - if i ever find the time for all this it will be a miracle so i guess i am.....

Don't you just love the feel and smell of a new sketchbook?     The paper seems so stiff but bouncy at the same time.
It takes me forever to decide to start using a new sketchpad, my favourite modus operandi is a really cheap black ballpoint pen and a jotter pad.................sheer bliss for warming up before using good paper and pencil/paint etc

I find it really helps if i scribble on the paper HARD and write a swear word..............it loosens me up  ...but then, i'm a nut.

Hi Articicle.
Many of the new advertisements you see on the www now are made using Macromedia Flash software. It has amazing capabilities and you can do practically anything with it, i think it must be the most versatile programme available at the moment. I have Flash but can't use it yet..........it's my new years resolution to learn.

As for html, just search for html tutorials and you will find hundreds of them on the net - you'll find everything, from very basic tag codes to the more advanced. You will find the code for making rollover images and loads of other fun stuff too.
One thing you can do is buy a book on using dynamic html which gives you all the codes you need.
Let us know how you get on.

1. Whendi Meager of Whendi's Bears - makes the most fabulous tatty old looking bears with great character

2. Paula of All Bear - BIG and cuddly and full of huggability - the bears not Paula :crackup:

3. Diane of Wee Scone bears - are'nt her tubby bellied bears just to die for? :hug:

4. Marion of Acid Attic bears - just so stylish and individual - red bears rule! :clap:

5. Brenda of Thumperantiques - gorgeous gorgeous little bears and i just want one! :dance:

That's my wish list and hopefully in the new year i can actually add one or two from the list above to my collection. Having said all that, there are still so many other bears i would love to own but i just whittled it down to five.

If anyone is upset by their ommission from my wish list please don't hesitate to PM or email me and i'll be more than happy to explain my choices and apologise publicly to them here on TT.

I don't have a problem with lists, either for groceries or people - this is just about wishes surely? I wish i were tall thin and beautiful but i'm sure all short fat and ugly people would'nt mind me wishing it (the fact that i am short, fat and ugly gives me a bit of an insight here) - lighten up girls IT'S CHRISTMAS

Terry's mum will be shunted out of hospital tomorrow as she is now stable but still unable to talk and Terry is on medication (i always knew he needed something) so things will be quietening down a bit - i hope - i pray  :pray:

Me, my new bear and doll are going to have a wee drop of xmas cheer together now and as they can't actually drink i guess i'll have to drink their's for them. What a shame huh?

I am sick to death of the 'Prostitute' angle...........this guy is a nutter and probably would'nt care if he 'accidently' murdered a non-working girl anyway. I suppose the newspapers just like the juicy angle.

I was wondering about this show Brenda, i have read the reviews and it sounds wonderful - now i know it definitely is i will try and go and see it.................i always hated the nice witch (such a bad hair-do and annoyingly goody-goody) and loved the bad one (boy could she ride that broom and cackle). I used to get very upset when i watched the movie when i was kid and she got melted by water - it always made sense to me as i hated washing and used to pretend i was Melting everytime me mum threw me in the bath ha ha ha
I was a rotten kid.

I have been having a bit of a tough time here since last week.......

Terry had his grumbling appendix trouble again and then to cap it all his poor mum had another bad stroke and has lost the ability to speak. I have been up at the hospital a lot and am really worn out and sad for her. But today the postman knocks on the door and gives me a big box - i open it, thinking to myself "What the heck is this? I don't remember ordering anything" and Lo and Behold! the most gorgeous Teddy and Raggedy Annie doll is inside!!!!!!

The wonderful Clare of Davis-Tedds has sent me a beautiful Christmas pressie!!!!

I am soooooo happy and a bit overwhelmed cos they are really so lovely and it was such a surprise - it has totally cheered me up.

CLARE - you are such a sweetheart to send me such a wonderful wonderful gift

It should be black if you put the code that Kelly gave you in.

Hi Krista.
When you say that your background was lost....was this when you previewed it on eBay using the 'preview your listing'?
If it was you will find that eBay blocks out the background so you can view all the details of the listing, your background is still there but not showing until you submit your listing.

Is this making any sense? I am dreadful at explaining things. Let me know Krista.

I am going mental here.............i should never have even looked at this snowflake thing - i am hopelessly lost forever now.

I finally made a couple of snowflakes! They make you work for it don't they? Stupid Stupid Scissors - how are you supposed to see what you are doing? And they spin. What's with the spinny thing huh? A case of someone going over the top with Flash 8 if you ask me - i can't blame them in one way, i can only make spinning letters with Flash 8 at the moment and that drives me nuts but i can see how you can get carried away once you learn new tricks.

Enough blather from me, here's me snowflakes both animated (another case of someone going over the top ha ha) and static pics.

Well i can sleep easy in me bed now that i have made a couple of snowies  :crackup:  totally addictive stuff though. Have you seen some of the other flakes in the gallery? Blooming marvellous - unlike mine!

I would love to do this but can't get the bloody scissors to work.............sigh...........you would'nt think i build websites would you? I am a dummo when it comes to using controls. I used to have a Playstation and my boys bought me a racing car game - i could'nt even drive round the track the right way. My sons were on the point of throttling me every time i tried to do it - that or hysterical.

No point in me trying to do this - i LOVE all your snowflakes though - have a thought for poor old Pen who will remain snowflakeless.
