So so so clever. I absolutely love the centre piece with the pond, would love to see him in a competition! Good luck for Sunday but you'll be fab.

Aawww you know what I'm going to say hehe, I love him. He's fab. But agree with Sue he does look much bigger than the 10.5 inches he is. The face is fantastic but I also love the big feet and well done with the waistcoat.... esp. for a first. How sweet that he lives on New Avenue too. Nice find by your Mum with the fabric

Haha.... if you keep him amongst friends and hug him plenty (and if I can have him back if I'm shortlisted) then I would imagine your house is perfect for him. He's actually making friends with Gustav(allbear) at the minute on my bed, I think they're talking about what it's like to be big bears and sharing tips on how to hug.
Thanks for your comments Ali, Marilyn and Becky (I can't believe Marilyn commented on one of my bears!! hehe - I loves yours - infact they were part of my inspiration).

Thanks so much for your comments. It's so encouraging. I'm dying to work on this pattern some more now and make these my bears.
And Peter I tried to design my ideal bear for this project and as he was coming together I did at one point think.... Peter would probably like this bear too so really pleased with you've commented! Not being too hopeful for BBAA's (pessimist that I am) but regardless I'm pleased, and that's all that really matters at this stage! Will keep you updated. Where do I store a bear this big until October though when the short lists are announced!?!? haha.

Hey Everyone
So I'm very pleased (over the moon) and proud to introduce William.
He is the first design that is completely aRTy Bears from start to finish, every limb, stitch and stuff. And he will be my BBAA entry for 'making 18 months and under'.
He's exactly what I was after, especially the head shape, and I'm so pleased.
He measures a whopping 22-23 inches and is made from a sparse Gold mohair. Black English Glass eyes, light shading and needle sculpting, scissor work to the snout, and claw detail to hands and paws. He is stuffed with polyfil (2 bags full :-O), steel shot to legs and belly and wood wool + wood wool polyfil mix to head. He also has a lovely little growler. Nose is hand stitched as always.
Hope you like him. Would love any feedback. Posting my piccies off on Monday and will let you know if I hear anything more. I think Shortlists are posted October/November time.

He really is brilliant. I knew he was a Katie Rae the minute I clicked on the forum and I absolutely love him!

Hahaha. I'm going to agree completely with Peter again - this is getting silly now Peter
You're whipping bears out left right and centre at the minute though, where are you finding the time?

Wow. Perfect is all I can say to this bear! Are you showing at Hugglets? Oh no.... I need to come now. I honestly love your bears Sue, love them!

Peter, I have no doubt I would be jealous of your hug. Mines only small at the minute, I only really found collectors bears around 8 months ago now but I have Gustav of Paula as you know and I'm a huge fan of her work, I also have a lovely blue guy from ABearbyKim who I actually won. My next big buy if all goes to plan is a Barling, but I also love Bears Bits, Sue's bears above, New Avenue Crew and ultimately (when I can afford it) a Gregory Bear - I still look at yours on here now to coo hehe!
I actually have a really old original teddy from the Bear Factory though who I think you would like, will try to photograph him with some of the bears I've made which I've kept. The bigger and the more grissly the better though I say hehe!
Unfortunately I'm not going to Hugglets in Sept starting a new job so simply can't afford it. May be there in Feb or Stratford again next year if you're around?

Peter, I think we must have the same taste in bears because I completely agree with you. These bears are wonderful and getting better and better.

I absolutely LOVE this bear Dawn! Your faces are just so fantastic. Even in modern clothes they keep that 'attic' feel.

Wow he's absolutely beautiful. You work wonders with a face shape! I love what you do.

Thanks everyone for showing bears out of other Fabrics. It's something I would never have thought to do, but I'm definitely inspired!
It must be much harder to hide knots etc. though!?
