too funny Sara-Jane...we both posted a ballerina! Mine is the reason I haven't been making any bears recently...and also one other doll class for special techqiques that I am taking online at the moment.
I like the one with ballet slippers... and didn't notice that it is particularly skinny....
Well, here is my Raggedy Ann with a twist.....for a local cloth doll group project... Her hair is cushion fringe... she is a flat face doll and the features are done with watercolour pencils...shoes are Apoxy Sculpt painted with acrylics... The biggest doll I have ever done! she was supposed to be only 22" ..but ended up being 26!!

And any part of any animal that is used for anything by any human is usually not a pleasant experience for the animal. Sad to say.... the real world is a sad and scary old place when you finally come to grips with reality.
What a shame Gaby that nobody was selling anything.....and the really sad thing is that it looks a beautiful site compared to the shabby ones I have been in from time to time for doll and bear shows. I guess it just depends on the day and the people ...
Can't say that I find the entry fee that high either.... people pay that all the time here for home shows and other crap displays and shows...
I like Madeline and Sy.....hahahha isn't it funny how we all love bears...and other critters...but each of us also seems to find a special "something" in different ones....
Knowing me... by now I would tell her to shove it where the sun don't shine ...

Why make Lara look like the bad guy? Maybe that mother should shave off her own rotten little perpetrator.... and keep right on shaving it off til he learns how to behave properly. Maybe he would hide out for a bit because he wouldn't want to look silly.... one down ..only 4 to go.... or perhaps even something more ridiculous ..like making them wear their underpants over their other clothing if they can't learn to play nice. Always more than one way to skin a cat.

Time to fight fire with fire as they say.... if no other parent will own up to the seriousness of the situation it could get even worse. In my humble opinion you should enroll her in a true self defense course. One that means business and can save a life. This is no joke already. She needs to be able to protect herself : physically , emotionally and mentally.... and definitely not have to, or want to, run from any situation at any point in her little life. Usually if a kid or dog or any animal runs.... they will be chased all the more. It becomes a game....but... it can turn into a really ugly game...whereas, if a cat turns on a dog....even most dogs will get the surprise of their lives and/or most will not then attack.
Much as it is not nice nor should it be necessary, especially for a girl....but the world seems to be spiralling a bit in this area.... it was never great but is getting really bad now in the schools. It is the way the world is going. It would just be so much safer for her and also will protect her psyche if she knows how to protect herself. There will not always be a bigger boy there to save her and she needs to know it now.
In my experience, the bullies just don't know what it feels like to be bullied....sometime it takes a shoe on the other foot situation to remedy it..... like somebody to show them what a good push feels like....just don't get caught...lol................ Too often, as is already happening in your situation, the perpetrators are protected and have excuses made for them......but..... they tend to become even more ruthless as time goes on. Yes. it is terrible to hear....but.... it needs to be dealt with and sooner than later....I grew up in a pretty tough neighbourhood in a rotten little city.... My Dad got furious when us girls were bullied and taught us some street fighting techniques... it worked for me....and it is working for my extra tiny grand nephew too. He was totally bullied and hurt, refused to go to school..... was having nightmares ..... til all of a sudden...... Karate.. ...new respect.. he doesn't use it
unless somebody tries to injure him but once the kids know he can protect himself.... all of a sudden ...newfound respect and safety. I can imagine my little blurb will shock most mothers..but..... I am a pragmatist and happy to be one.

That is a great bear for a first.... as a matter of fact it would be a great bear for any number.... lol..... what a great little face....paw pads appear to be stitched on really well too...some people just can't say anything nice at all can they?

Well,..... it is pretty tough to buy anything if we can't bid because we have no feedback... somebody has to let us buy the first few.
also... sometimes when a buyer is new..they don't quite get the concept... and they put in a bigger bid than necessary to make sure they get what they are bidding on. I did that when I bought my first few little needlefelts.... .
If it happens not to work out... so be it... the worst is you will have to re-list.... but.... what if a new ebayer becomes one of your best customers? It would have been a great shame to scare them off in any way. If it was me...I would just leave it and see what happens.

I am with Paula.... never really considered making bears to be art. To me it is just having fun...making bears... or dolls or jewellery or cards.. or,whatever else I make....I just make them because I like to do it. Can't really get my head around calling it art I guess. I do enjoy my bears... love their little faces... love to look at the things I make and am amazed if I do a decent job of it... but not sure why it would be called art.
However, the dictionary does also define art as a "human skill or practical application of skill" as well...so I guess I have to accept that it is "art" in that sense of the word. I didn't really know that til I looked up the meaning of art. Guess I don't even know what I AM doing ..... just blithely going along... doing it............lol......oh, well...what else is new?
