Hi Clare,
My youngest is 9 she has lots of the gypsy skirts that are fashionable now but the material is quite thin so I bought her an underskirt, so you cannot see her underwear through it.
I said have you got your underskirt on she said “no, why do I have to wear it? I don't have patterned pants on!”
So I explained there are some men who like ladies, some men who like men, and some men who like young girls, she understood and put her underskirt on. You don't need to go in to detail but enough to keep them safe!
And at that age if you don’t tell them kids at school may misinform them.

Hi Sarah,
I normally send about four sample bits of mohair, usually mohair I have in stock. Then they are not totally overwhelmed.
Sometimes it isn't worth buying mohair specially to make a bear unless you can just get enough for the one bear.
Also if a collector likes a large bear but wants a smaller version of that bear making in the same thick long mohair/ alpaca I will advise the smallest size I can make with out it looking like a yeti fur ball! :o

Shelli,
I bought oil paints and pastels, coloured pencils and art things years ago to do some painting and sketching. I have never had time to use them, i will open the oils if they are still useable and have a go, as the copic airbrush pens seems to come off on my fingers.
As you know i don't do many traditional brown bears mine are all colours and styles. So the bright colours will be used too.

having said that a lot of words in UK are spelled differently to the same word in USA, but still we don't need to be criticised  criticized bear_rolleyes

kerrenmorris

oh don't check my spelling Danni, ;)
i once had an email from a lady who said my spelling was poor and made it look like bear artists were badly educated! :(
I sent an email back and said "are you a teacher or something" she sent a polite email back saying she was a nurse but was very particular about spelling and sorry if she had offended me bear_rolleyes it was a typing error!

I find the web site to be a good window for collectors to see my work. I have had bears adopted all over the world from the website,
so I am a huge advocate of the web. :D

I did atkins for a while I lost a stone in weight (not sure what that is in Lb)
I got a throat infection (nothing to do with Atkins) and couldn't stand to eat any meat.
I love salads but startrd eating my normal stuff again and put the stone back on.

I am now attending weight watchers with my daughter who has done there points system and over 16 weeks has lost  2 stone and looks really well, she is now at her target weight.
My mum also has been going for a year and has lost about the same amount.
the good thing is having the book you can write every tihing down and keep a record of what you are eating with the points system so you don't get confused and you loose steadily too. going to the group you feel encouraged not to give up. I am not a large lady but not as slim as i used to be before having 3 children and learning to drive 18 years ago bear_grin

kerrenmorris

And why not! don't feel guilty, its not as if we make a fortune selling our bears anyway. So a good saving on your mohair will help towards other costs. Enjoy!

flame.jpgHi
I love all the bears such a wide verity!

I haven't had time to post recently, with the school holidays, we had a couple of weeks away. I have had my rainbow bear adopted (the one on the cover of the Teddy bear times August) and  so I have made a completely different new bear called "Fame"

kerrenmorris

Ha it was two years after I sent one bear that I got a reply from the collector in italy when he wanted me to make another for his wife!!
I sent a bear recently and didn't get a message to say he had arrived, I sent it recorded signed for and looked up on the web site for royal mail, so i know it had arrived.
I think we take it personally because it is a little bit of our heart and soul goes in to making the little bear or golly.
But some collectors may just see it the same way as a parcel from a big store like qvc, I don't email them to say my Liz earle face cream has arrived.
So no don't worry Dilu she was so delighted with your golly she forgot to let you know! sad I know but thats the way it goes some times. don't stress too much.
Hugs Kerren bear_original
