Oh such beautiful ladies.
I think Daphne is just passing the buck. She doesn't want us to see her photo.........
Su Ann, I usually don't ask this type of thing, I've been holding off, trying to be a good girl. Alas, I give in . I have to. Can I borrow (Uh steal) the name Beezley from you. I really like daggy names, and I'm sorry, it's a little daggy! Please? Pretty Please? With cherries on top (and a bit of chocolate if you're lucky?)
Oh, of course I had to be nosey and go and check out the material that Hayley so desperatly wants.
What beautiful mohair. But my oh my, what a beautiful cat! Throw in a little bit of ginger and make the mohair a little bluer and you have one of my cats that sadly passed away last year.
Beautiful work Sue Anne!
Ahh that's so good to know! That girls. I just thought I'd ask.
Ever since I saw your beautiful face Laure holding your beautiful bear, I have wanted to try a brown and white panda. I just fell inlove with that bear!
Wow, you're doing really well. I've been signed up for a couple months, and have sold one. I would have sold two, but one ladies email address started bouncing after she had ordered. So, that one didn't end up selling. I only just got an email from someone saying they are very interested in another of my bears, but I haven't heard from her since, so I'm not sure what's happening there.
I wasn't expecting any sales, so it's been a huge suprise that I have actually had some success there!
Hi Everyone,
I've never been able to work out which way is best, so I thought I'd ask everyone here.
When you're making say a black and white panda, and you're stitching a piece of white mohair and a piece of black mohair together, what colour thread do you choose? White or black?
I think in the past i've gone with black, I don't really know why, it's looked fine - I'm just wondering what the rule of thumb is - if there is a rule of thumb???
Thanks everyone!
Danni
I just wanted to welcome you to the board Kim. I'm sure you'll love it here. We'd love to see one of your bears!!
I'm in Australia, so I have no suggestions to make regarding registering etc - but I just wanted to wish you luck with it all.
OOoh I love the bear!! Just adorable! I especially like that his nose isn't higher than his eyes... LOL
Nope, no quitting.. just helping eachother through the tough periods when we can't afford a mohair fix etc LOL
Thanks Clare! I have been having the same problem as you have been having, not getting very good prices on eBay. At least now I'm using eBay Australia, they are actually all selling - so that's good. Oh, plus i cover my costs, so that's really good, I'm not complaining. If I can sell on eBay, I can afford to at least make them.
Plus i'm getting sales through my webpage at full price and through Bear Pile. Have you tried Bear Pile Clare? It's great.
Danni
Hi Clare,
Welcome to the board! I once emailed you - so we're not complete strangers! :)
I'm sure you'll adore it here!
Danni
Oh just make TBA an international organisation please!!! There will be plenty of people willing (needing) to join up!
gee talk about dirty minds girl. Get your minds out of the gutter.... LOL
you girls are toooo funny!:mad::lol::P:/
Ooh Paris, I wanna go, I wanna go!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome Hayley!! Great to have you hear! I won't be pulling a face at your rats at all!! When I was young, my sister and I had a couple, then when we got older, my sister got really itno rats, and bred and showed them. They are great little animals. Just sad that they get old sooo quickly!
hrmmmm okay... I'll think what i can come up with.. no promises though LOL
Cindy is nice, nice range of mohairs too, but I'm more of a Gerry's girl. I can't believe that I have both Gerrys and Beary Cheap in Australia - it still makes my mind bend that there are enough bears being made to support such business' throughout the world. Amazing.
Stopppp it stoopppppittttttttttt :rolleyes::mad::rolleyes::P
I am so wanting to make gollies now - I'm going to get addicted, I just know it. Can they be hand sewn? Any good places for things like a kit where I can try one first? Ohhh gee, look what you have done..
Dilu, I love you side glancing golly...ooh mannnn..
Me? Talent? Nah... just a newbie here Dilu!!
I love dark and light, probably prefer dark for some reason - but then I do love making Polars also - I guess I like to mix it up!
Oooh Rita, your bears are ADORABLE!! I dont just say that to anyone! They really truley are! I think YOU have definatly got your own style. I think it would be easy to pick a BlackForest Bear.
It's wonderful that there are so many different styles, from Shelli's sweet soulful bears, to Judi's amazing character faces, to Dilu's cute little minis, to Daph's adorable happy teddys, to Sue Ann's sweet "melt your heart" faces. (and everyone else's amazing work!) They all have their amazing looks.
Just remember that we can't all do the same things - that would be boring. We can all appreciate everyone's work though!
Keep going and stop being so hard on yourself!
Hrmmm a darnit doll - sounds "interesting" Of course I'm guessing it's an American thing LOL Just teasing
Louise, sorry to hear you are in a slump - must be difficult. If it makes you feel better, I've NEVER seen a yuck bear of yours, perhaps you need to walk away from them for a while, come back to them when you are fresh.... Perhaps they'll look better then? It was nice seeing one of your bears in another supplier's newsletter - along with my ORANGE (Yes Daphne, I can do orange, can I do purple though?) bear!
Danni
Oooh purple kitchaide, I HAD to go there.. Sorry everyone!!
Thanks for the comments everyone on my little scruffy bear made out of Ratinee. He is actually my little logo bear that I had drawn.
I can't believe there bears here either Di - makes me feel very insecure of my own work.
oOOooOOOh Perhaps Ratinee is just a term that the Aussie supply place uses? It's curly wavy almost matted mohair. Very pretty. Here's an image of a bear I made out of a ratinee
LOL Daph, for some reason, I had a thing for ORANGE bears. I think I've got it out of my system now! LOL
Danni
Oh Kirsten, of course you'd be advanced enough!!!
