Family,
Internet. I'd go nuts without it. I'm practically a hermit, so the internet is my means of connecting with people, getting information, entertaining myself and passing the time.
Bears. I don't know what I'd do without my bears. They keep me company, keep the depression at bay and generally make me happier than anything else I've ever had.
Congratulations! They're Really neat. They remind me of that coke commercial that aired last Christmas with the bears and the penguins!
I visited my father and grandmother's gravesites. Later on we barbequed. I ate more than I probably should have.
I certainly hope you feel better soon. I've never injured my ribs, but I can't imagine it being very fun.
As for GRRs My computer has been freezing a lot lately. I think the time is quickly approaching when I'll need to get another one. I can't really rely on this POS for much longer.
And as for worrying about hurting bears, I do the same thing. I came home a few days ago to find someone had taken one of my bears off my computer desk and wedged him upside down in the space between the shelf that sits directly above my computer desk and the wall. The bear was jammed in there tightly. I had to rescue him, hug him and apologize to him before placing him back in his rightful place on my desk.
She's a beautiful old bear. Congratulations.
I haven't even thought of starting to make bears yet. I still have much to learn before I'm comfortable enough to make an attempt. But from a collecting standpoint I can say that I don't usually notice whether a bear has a tail or not until after I make the purchase.
Usually I'll see a bear sitting on a shelf and I'll have to have him. A lot of the time I don't notice intricate details, I just see a bear, fall in love for some reason, snatch him up and take him to the cash register. It's not until I get him home do I notice if he's tailed or bare butted. I suppose a tail isn't a very big factor in determining whether I like a bear or not.
Of course, if and when I do start making my own bears I'll probably give all of them tails. I don't know why I feel that way. Just a gut instinct I suppose.
Well, they certainly look like they're having fun!
I've been known to spend quite a bit for things I want. For example, payday I'm planning to order some bears and accessories from the build a bear workshop online, and on top of that I'm going to pay extra to get them sent overnight, because I'm too impatient to wait a couple days to get them. It'll probably be over a hundred bucks but it'll be well worth it.
I don't doubt it
I got my first Boyd's bear today!!. I was looking around the same shop I got my beloved Blue Bear at, when I saw that they had Boyd's bears half off. I picked up a small bear wearing a hooded shirt thingy with ladybugs on it. I wasn't crazy about the outfit, but I loved the bear himself. And since the outfit was removable I saw no reason not to buy him ( although honestly I probably would have bought him even if it wasn't removable ).
He's about eight or nine inches tall, with brown fuzzy fur. He's also fully jointed. I've never had a jointed stuffed animal before. It's really cool. I've got him sitting by my keyboard as I type.
Your first bear? That's a marvelous effort!! He's got such a sweet face. I can only hope my first bear comes out half as good.
