Well done Richy....don't panic just sit down and take a deep breath. I think Shane's idea of the zip lock bags is a good one, as long as you are organised and plan in advance you will get through this in one piece, look at it as a challenge!!!
Ahhh Jodi I've been caught like that too, now I always look for the shipping cost and email for a quote if there isn't one in the auction.....I hate feeling like I've been ripped off when it comes to shipping but as a buyer of many different items I don't mind at all if there is a small 'handling' charge. As long as I don't feel that people are profiteering off me!!
I have sent you a picture Laura....the website is looking great!!

Thank you all so much and thank you Sarah for posting this....it has been a real thrill to see my work in print for the first thime!!!
Thanks Sarah...I'll ask them, I should have thought of that!!
I try to keep the cost down. I have scales in my workroom which I use constantly for the reasons that Sarahjane has mentioned.
I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who tried really hard to keep the cost down ....although I think our postage over here is really expensive!!!
I think you have done the right thing Krista.....everyone watching now has enough notice to be able to bid before you add the BIN if they want the puppy so there shouldn't be any complaints....
I would like to make more of a big deal with my packing but I find most of my bears cut it pretty fine when it comes to the weight increments and the shipping doubles whenever you go up an increment So I am always pretty practical....bubble wrap, beans business card with a thank you on the back and a good strong box. I am always paranoid that because the have to travel all the way from Aus they will get squashed. I always use plastic so they can't get wet and I tape over the address on the outside so it can't get wet either. But it would be nice to be able to make it prettier!!!
Or you could add a bit telling people that you are going to add a BIN if it doesn't reach the reserve by a certain time??
You guys are so lucky to have this service...we have to go to the post office to post and to buy our boxes and they don't really have a good range of sizes either!!!
As for a handling fee, I charge a small (usually $1.00 at the most) just to cover things like sticky tape, peanuts, bubble wrap etc.
If your puppy has no bids I think you are quite entitled to put a BIN on....all the watchers watching do not mean you will get a sale, if you think she is genuinely interested in your puppy (check her feedback ....does she usually buy bears, puppies etc) I would put a BIN on as in my experience often watchers are not always interested in bidding.
Tami you are so right about the way kids see things...it is so different from what we see as adults
I will always remember a couple of years ago we walked into our back yard from the car when our yard was badly in need of mowing and my 5 year old son stopped dead and looked at the yard an awestruck wonder...he turned to me and said Oh mummy isn't it beautiful!!........Where I looked around I saw a run down messy horrible yard and he saw a sea of grass full of dandelions and seeds and to him it was like an adventure playground!!!
I have never looked at the yard in quite the same way again
Help I am writing a pattern to go in a magazine and I need a professional looking diagram for a cotter pin wobble joint....only trouble is I don't have the first idea how to do this.
I have managed a few simple diagrams in photoshop but trying to do this one with all the different curves etc has me beat.......
Aside from scanning one from someone elses pattern which I don't want to do because of copyright problems I'm not sure how to go about it, I have tried drawing it but it just looks very amaturish......
Oh dear I have so many of these stories that I don't know where to start!!!! One time when I was heavily pregnant and we were at a party my daughter (5) asked me very loudly "Mum How is the baby going to get out???" All of a sudden I had an audience of about 20 people all waiting to see how I was going to respond to that one...
And just yesterday our 3 year old told his father that he was a 'google eyed fish head' ....we have no idea where that one came from!!!
Having two teenage boys and a three year old with a mind like a steel trap leads to lots of these embarrassing moments!!!...I haven't yet worked out why 3 year olds always repeat things when you are out in public...instead of in the privacy of your own home!!
Rubber gloves is my secret...I've snipped the fingers off some old rubber gloves and I now wear them whenever I'm stitching noses of any kind!!
Louise I am sipping on a glass of Lambrusco and feeling the same way...TT does make those dark times feel just a little bit brighter....I am hoping your dark times become less over time!!!
