So, I saw this little old bear on eBay, and I bid on it, I won it, it is now here.......why do I do this? This poor little bear is in big need of repair.

When you repair bears, do you remove the old stuffing? That's what I think I want to do with this poor guy.

On Thursday, I was supposed to be at work at 8:30....made a call at 9:00 when it started pouring rain and I dashed around the house closing all windows, and was asked why I wasn't at work! Dashed off and made it by 9:15, the program I was doing started at 9:30. I have the same time frame tomorrow.....hope I remember it!
My car, which my hubby broke on Mother's Day, was in the shop 2 hours away, no chance we could get there when they were opened.....Called them and paid by charge card over the phone so we could pick it up whenever we could without them being opened....that worked and finally, after 3 weeks, I have my own car to drive again!!!!!

Bad days seem to come and go......hopefully the good days are more than the bad ones......... bear_smile  Just hug a teddy bear and life has no choice but to get better!  bear_flower

bear_smile We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.....taking me forever to get caught up on these posts!  bear_smile
We went to camp where we were joined by a lot of our 'adopted' family.....my husbands college roomate, Dinger, a good friend, Scott, our son, Aaron and his girlfriend Meg, niece, Theresa and Brett, the boyfriend, and Jeremy, our son's best friend, a former member of my hubby's boy scout troop, and an adopeted son, his daughter, Savanah and his girlfriend Jennifer, our daughter's best friend, a former member of my Girl Scout troop and an adopeted daughter (Scott's real daughter!) bear_wub
We were able, because of all the help, get the new dock put in, the old sailboat taken out, the new one put in, played games, sat and talked by the campfire....water was too cold to swim for most of us, but did get out in the newly finished canoe and took pictures of the new dock, our camp and the neighbors new camp that was just finished.
Only thing that was missing was our daughter.....but she lives on the other side of the country from us!
it was a wonderful weekend with all the friends, AND, the most beautiful weather. (last week it was raining and only about 55 degrees, over the weekend the sun was out and got up to 85 degrees!!!!)  bear_flower
Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

I just finished reading the book "Wicked" my son gave it to me. It is the life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Wizard of Oz fame) We used to live in the town where L. Frank Baum, the author of the Wizard of Oz was born, and I always dressed as the Wicked Witch for Oz Day and Halloween......so my son thought I should find out more about Elphaba! she is a very interesting person, and was not wicked at all. I am now waiting for my son to give me "Son of a Witch"

The following is a poem sent to me by Jane in UK, who runs the China Bear Rescue Spport Group South Somerset. This poem was written by her when Andrew died.

SLEEP TIGHT ANDREW

Goodnight our dear sweet Andrew, we all loved you so much
Your friends will miss you deeply and from all the hearts you touched

You`re sleeping like an Angel, the stars are now your home
You loved to sleep beneath them, now amongst them you will roam

Your friends are there to meet you, you know them all so well
The pain they all had suffered living in their cage of hell

But now they are at peace now, just like your final years
You`ll inspire us to carry on amongst our deepest fears

You came to us our first dear Bear, you will always be our star
We will carry on for you Andrew now we have come this far

Sleep Tight our dear sweet Andrew, goodnight, its not the end
And thank you for the joy you gave to all

God Bless Our Very Special Friend

Just thought I would share it with everyone here.

Mother's Day is now past and gone, but I had a nice day. Went to church in the morning, we were actually home by 9:30! Opened up the whole day. Read the paper, watched some TV. Then we went to a nice restaurant in the Adirondacks way out in the woods. It was about a 1 hour drive in the rain. No animals even though the restaurant is set up with lots of windows so you can see out into the field and woods. On the way home, we tried to find a neighbors camp on a lake that we drove by. Mys Hubby ran over a rock, pulling it out of the ground that went clunk, clunk, clunk under the car. We barely made it home, lost the transmission fluid! I talked with my son, and my Mom......my daughter was probably working, preparing dinners for all the Moms that went out for dinner! It was a nice relaxing day.....didn't pick up anything bear-related......probably should have though.

So, today, I get to call to tell Saturn that the car is on it's way, and AAA to get the car towed the 80 miles to the dealer.......

Happy belated Mother's day to all.

Christine, I forget that there are parts of the world that keep the birds year round. Up here, the birds migrate south beginning in September. Some birds stay all winter, and it is great to see them, but the really colorful ones that return in May just brighten up the days........mainly because we know winter is over and we will be able to get outside and enjoy the warmth and sunshine (and bugs and other things)

As I was watching the hummingbird feeder this morning, the silly Northern Oriole landed and started to drink! Her feeder is 10 feet away on the other side of the window! With fresh orange slices to eat! Silly birds, guess they can't read the signs  bear_grin

As I sit here on my computer, I am watching a Northern Oriole on one feeder on the side of the house and a Hummingbird at the feeder on the front of the house!  bear_original  bear_original  So nice to see them back enjoying the feeders again, it has been so long.
