I just realized yesterday when I was working on an Annie that I stand up (usually lean against the desk or countertop or whatever) when I'm doing something detailed...sewing the nose, highlighting a face, etc.

Fun thread to read...

Cute cute cute...I really love your H&S bears!!!

I talk to myself...mumble, grumble or just have a little conversation.  Frightening, huh?  I do it ALL the time...in the garden I chat with the plants (tell them I'm yanking them out if they don't bloom this year, etc., and it worked my peonies are FULL of buds for the first time this year)   It may be an only child thing.   The cats think I'm nuts.

I LOVE Etsy.  If I can do it Aleta, you can to.  It's not that hard, really.  I window shop everyday on Etsy and more than I should buy a little too!

Go ETSY!!!

Whew...that saved me a bunch of copying and pasting.   I was just over at your blog looking for your Etsy post, Shelli   bear_grin   I didn't want to do the whole link thing for the Queen.

I just used my name...Shantell.  It's not all the popular especially for someone my age.  I hear tons of little girls under the age of about 10 with it now a days.  It still makes my head turn to see who in the heck is yelling at me now.       I could have used the name I have on ebay which was a quick sign up when I wanted to purchase something years ago (long before bears)...shanternelli.  That silly name originated from my friend Angie who started calling me "Shanternelli with the big belly" when I was pregant with Taylor (now 17).  I got even with her,  she later went on to have TWINS.   bear_innocent

Apple Dumpling Bears...came from you guys actually.  I got help here coming up with a name for my little bear business.  I do think it was Kelly from Canna Bear Paint that came up with the final Apple Dumpling part.  I couldn't decide for sure.  I needed input!  (so typical me)  I have been thinking about changing it a bit to encompass more than just bears since I've been playing in the cloth/rag doll arena lately.  Nothing ready to sell...just having fun.

I could have just used "Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom" but I suppose most of you hear that all day long too!!!!

Hi Patty,

I'm off to add you to my blog...I'd love to be on yours.   http://www.appledumplingbears.blogspot.com/

I'm not dancing around doing anything...except laughing while I envision YOU Aleta dancing around listening to Michael Buble...making yourself dizzy and landing on your bumm (I know that part wasn't in your post).  I know I know...it comes from a post in the past...something about your spinning around and around on your chair until you spun yourself right off the base.         That was you wasn't it?

Okay....back to the subject at hand.   bear_flower

You can also check out Shelli, Potbelly Arts blog... http://potbellyarts.typepad.com   You might be wondering why both Brenda and I are referring you to Shelli.  She was the originating Help Advisor along with SueAnn for Teddy Talk but retired last Spring (I think) so we all know and love her.  She pops in here often and keeps track of us...but her artworks is beautiful and she's quite active with ATC's, etc.   Anyway...check out her blog and you might find some of the answers to your questions plus some eye candy.

Hi Tina,

This is where I learned to changed mine to a 3-column blog.  http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.c … plate.html    It was VERY easy and I'm a complete idiot when it comes to this stuff.  REALLY...I am.

There are lots of tips and such especially for Blogger.  Make sure you pick the directions for your specific type of layout you are using...they explain that in the directions.

Ask if you have questions.  I think...I got this site from Lisa of QDPatooties...she has everything I swear.

Oh Judi, honey...

You haven't heard about my Skippy have you?       Three years and two litters of gorgeous kittens later and we STILL haven't caught her.   She WON'T be live trapped...looks at the trap and then us and laughs...I seriously thinks she laughing at me.   A tranquilizer gun is what I need.  I'm kidding folks, don't anyone get excited.

I feel your kitty scratches, Judi...really I do.

Amazing enough our little Skippy who is feral went right to the litter box when she was in our garage with babies.  In fact, she would come into the garage...use the litterbox, peek in on her sleeping babies and then go  right back outside...sometimes she wouldn't even peek in on the kids if they were sleeping.  Who needs to dig around in old hard dirt when you go clean fresh stuff to do ya bidness in.  LOL

Good Luck, Judi!!!

MiniMarthacloseup.jpgInstead of bears I've been doodling, dabbling and generally playing around with this and that.

I made this little mini-Martha doll.  Her pattern is from Emily Martin of The Black Apple.  I've posted a link to her blog on my blog.   The big difference between her pattern and mine is that  I didn't enlarge the pattern as the directions indicated...get it big difference...LOL.  Okay so my headcold has made me goofy.

Anyway...here's Martha.

PS  This was my first time doing a face...not to shabby for an amateur, huh?

Yes, Iphones are reeeeeeeeeeeally cool.  My daughter's boyfriend has one and I've played with it several times...BUT I don't or want all it has to offer...really...seriously.  I don't want to be addicted to my phone.  I simply want to be able to use the phone and be able to either text or email with my kids...they seem to think I'm out of touch with the texting thing which I cannot do...I just can't simple as that.  I like the QWERTY keyboard on the Blackberry and since I can get it fairly reasonable as an upgrade with my current service which I'd like to keep for the same reasons above (KIDS) I was just curious.  I'm not addicted to my phone.  I don't carry it around with me.  It's either in my purse when I'm out or on the counter when I'm not...if I hear it whooo hoo...if not I'll call back....kinda the same as my house phone.      I'm a fuddy-duddy!!!

My oldest has a LG Venus with Verizon....way cool also.  He upgraded after some girl stole his old one, an LG Envy, and threw it in the toilet at a bar...nice huh?  Yes, I'm old enough to have kids who can go to bars...don't remind me.

I've only recently put a couple bears in my shop so I'm only speaking from my VERY NEW experience...

When you pick your tags the first option gives you toys, bears, and a few others to chose from...I chose bears first but then nothing related came up for my second option...so I went back and chose toys and more related tags came up such as plush, etc., however, I later figured out that you can actually type in what you want such as OOAK, Artist Bear, Mohair, etc which is what I did.  You don't have to chose toys.  I think it's a matter of manipulating the tags to fit what works for your item.

And, you don't have to make your item "live" so you can play with the tags until you get them the way you want them.  If you are interested in Etsy and an option to sell...just try it and see how it works for you...the worst thing that can happen is you don't sell something but a few people see your cute little bears and might find you on your website.

Hugs,

P.S.  I hope I'm making sense...I have a terrible head cold and I'm all fuzzy with ICK!!!

I have the option of upgrading my cellphone early and getting a new Blackberry smartphone.   I've never been happy with my current phone and I don't use any of the music features that came with it so changing to something that would allow me the option of messaging or emailing might suit me a little better.

Does anyone have any experience with the Blackberry Pearl smartphone?   I have until the end of May to decide.

AWWWWWWWWW!!!  What a beautiful baby!  Congratulations Clare...now get off TT and get some sleep while you can.   bear_grin

He's so darling, Patty...and what a gorgeous Grandma he has.   I'm thrilled to hear that Sullivan is doing better.  I hope the eye shunt works well for him.  As always keep us posted on how he's doing and of course pictures of that cute little dude.  What a charmer!!

P.S.  I'd love to swap blog links... http://appledumplingbears.blogspot.com

Don't worry Marion, the books overwhelm me too!  I just take one feature at at time, play with it until I feel comfortable with it or at least that I sort of know what I'm doing and then move onto something else I want to learn.  I think it will take forever and a day to learn everything.   There is a cheat sheet available for the S5 IS but I haven't purchased it YET.

I mean...it does say..."Advanced" Point & Shoot.         There is the Canon G8 which is one step higher but still not an SLR for anyone interested.  :)

Happy  :photo:  taking!!!

Hi Marion,

I just bought a new camera a couple months ago and I love it.  It's the Canon Powershot S5 IS.  It's a Advanced Point & Shoot....just a step below an SLR but a bit more advanced than a regular P&S.   So far it's been really easy to learn to use...and I'm not that savvy in the photography arena.  I purchased mine here...got it in a few days and have been quite happy with it and customer service as well.

Good luck with your camera shopping.  It's overwhelming isn't it?

I have a "thang" for Etsy these days too, Ginger.  I think it's an illness....Etsy-itis.  I go looking at one thing and end up somewhere completely off track.

Here's my little shop...just opened...still in the renovations stages.

I haven't tried this on carpet so you might want to try it first in an area like a closet to see what it does to the carpet first.  I've gotten ink on clothes before and put a bit a hairspray on the spot (I used the kind from a pump bottle) and gently blotted...not rubbed...the spot until the ink came out.  I then just washed the article of clothing like normal.  I'm not sure this will work for you since you've already used other products on the spots...sometime they will just set the stain.

Good Luck!

Hi Jane,

Those little tools do only show up on YOUR page...noone else can see them.  I ran into that problem and was frustrated with it.  After spending what felt like hours reading through the help section I finally found the answer to that very question and actually learned a bunch of other stuff I wasn't even interested in and have since forgotten.   bear_grin  The little icons will disappear too and then reappear when you go in and edit.  They are like little mystery ghosts.

I ignore them now.

Hugs,

I've been a little slow here.  I opened my shop and it's been empty...for absolutely no reason that I can come up with.  How's that for honestly.

So...today, I finally sat down and muddled my way through it.  Take a peek if you wish...better yet...have yourself an apple dumpling.   bear_tongue

I'm working on a new banner for my shop.  I'm a little slow at that too.  I think I'm becoming molasses.

I have to say that I begged and bought one of Frank's bag on the sly... and it arrived a couple days ago...it's awesome...I love it.  The colors are so much more vibrant than in the pictures.  Now if it would just quit raining and act like spring around here in Oregon I could swap bags.

Go buy Frank's bags...they are wonderful!!!!
