Congrats on another successful show!!! Yay you!
However, I wanted one of your dad's bag...so I shall pout until he makes more.
I LOVE them!!! You're dad is such a gem!!! Is he making them in different sizes. I can't imagine that you will have any left over. I'd snatch one up in a heartbeat.
Hi Lynette,
I am so sorry for your health issues. My housemate has a lot of your same diet restrictions which include celiac disease (no gluten). I can highly recommend books by Bette Hagman (The Gluten Free Gourmet). She not only has some wonderful recipe but easily explains the different types of flours used in place of wheat and how they work together. It's not just one you have to use but a combination of several. You many already know all that though. I also ran across this blog...
The Gluten Free Girl http://glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com/ which has some really nice recipes as well. She has a search function which makes it easy to find something if she has it (as she usually does). She's chatty so you can usually just scroll down find a picture of the dish and then the recipe. There are many others I could fill the whole page with.
Once you find out what's really making you feel ill and eliminate it from your diet, I hope you feel much better.
Hugs,
Shantell
YAY....and I'm going to be there come hell or high water. It's only an 1-1/2 hours drive from my house so I HAVE to go...right?
And...one of my dearest friends from high school lives in the connecting town...I can see her on my way back too!!!
Brenda so sorry you've been feeling poor. You get better, you hear me. Glad the bunnies are ready to hop there way Aleta's direction for purely selfish reasons...I get to see them...well that is if I get my butt up there early enough. HA!
Daphne Way ahead of you girl...already been thinking about it Etsy for awhile...just gotta get a couple little bears finished up and ready to go. I'm a slacker. Oh, and I'm making a quilt for Taylor's birthday (his request). First REAL quilt I've actually made in 3 years.
As far as Ebay, I've been annoyed with them for a long time. They haven't done anything to ME personally. It just seems they are getting more and more greedy with less and less customer service and they don't protect either buyer or seller. Paypal is almost as annoying. I can't even get them to change my last name from when I was married...now divorced. I've sent my divorce decree THREE TIMES...still not changed. I've called...written...argued...nearly lost my temper (shock)...and hung up on one guy (idiot). GRRRRRRRRRRR
Have a happy day everyone...I need to take walk now!
Well, we all know my ebay love/hate relationship...more hate as of late. (I've been following along in the shadows)
But, Brenda...you got them bunnies stuff yet?
Ooooh...I remember having big wonderful glistening icicles like those one winter in Central Oregon where my Grandparents lived. They were so fun UNTIL the sun came out and they started melting and one broke off and the way it broke also broke my grandmother plate glass window in her living room. OOOPS!!! However, they are lovely...we use to get the grownups to break them off so we could play with them in the snow (and eat them...gross to think about it now).
I have sunshine today, Judi...and a baby calf born a few days in the pasture next to the house (our neighbors has mutt cows though... )
Oh Brenda how wonderful!!! He looks like my Samech!! Are we collecting look alike cats or what?
Congrats Lisa!!!
Oh look how she crossed her legs like a little lady?!!! How sweet is that? We'll miss you Laura!!!
I now use hot wax spa baths for my hands (feet too) and they are nice and soft and the warmth feels good on my creaky finger joints!
Oh gosh...I love those. When I use to get my nails done on the regular basis I always had that done...LOVE LOVE LOVED it. I wish my kid would hurry up and get hers. I'd even buy the wax for her. I'd buy my own but then she'd want to borrow it. HA
Shelli recently posted on her blog a nice description of Etsy. It's a place where people who create HANDMADE only items can sell them for a set price. The key is HANDMADE no commerical made items. It's a little confusing to navigate at first but after awhile you get the hang of it. I have only purchased from Etsy and not sold, yet...but have only heard wonderful things...and seen some gorgeous items at really reasonable prices.
The "Treasury" is a fun place to start just looking. I stumble there one day not having a clue what I was doing...lots of eye candy and then shuffled my way around like an old woman in her slippers from shop to shop.
This was my house yesterday (in the middle of all those trees). We rarely get snow...the kind that actually sticks for more than a couple hours. It's still here today and suppose to snow a little more today...nothing too exciting though. We get that fun freezing rain stuff...YUK!!! But in comparison to some of you...this is the tropics.
I have to agree with what's already been said...anyone of these beautiful works of art deserves a nod...they are all stunning.

Congratulations everyone!!!
Shantell.... are you going to get a puppy now???? :)
I would love to get a puppy but I'm not going to any time soon. I've got 4 cats...two of which are wild and one of those who gives me grey hair...can you guess her name? LOL Just wondered if I added "rate corn odor on feet" to my list of qualifications if the good ol' folks at the HS would think I was nuts. Probably...
So when I decide to go looking for a new puppy...I wonder if the human society will look at me funny if I start sniffing dog feet? Nope...not this one doesn't smell enough like fritos, sorry...NEXT...

I just asked my housemate if her beloved teacup poodle, Sassy's, paws ever smelt like fritos and she laughed at me and said a resounding YES!!! She said that even from time to time she thinks her fur might have smelt like fritos too. Sassy lived to a ripe old age of 18 so it can't be that bad.
Here's mine, Denise...I call him Cowlick...his fur goes EVERYWHERE. He was my first design and a piece of mohair that I didn't quite know what to do with. I had not intentions of ever selling bears at the time. I just wanted to see if I could make them...little did I know.
I he sits all proud with my other artist bears thinking he a big cheese!!!
It's because of the Screens Writers strike isn't it?
I could use some of that too Claire. I've had my nose stuck in books lately. Right now I'm reading Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt...not to mention books on making cloth dolls. BUT...I can't actually make myself sit down and MAKE a cloth doll or a bear for that matter.
I'm blaming it on the weather.
You just post all the pictures you want Heather. I so miss my babies being babies...well except for poopy diapers and the occassionally urping up just as I was heading out the door in a big hurry.
She's gorgeous and you should enjoy every colicy and non-colicy minute of her.
Hugs from one mommy to another,
Shantell
Daphne, she beautiful and so grand. She looks like she posing for her photo. How lucky you are to live in a place and see such wonderful creatures! I get cows, skunks and the occasional raccoon.
Beautiful photographs!!!
2007 has in general just been a WORST year for me. The list is too long and hard to pick just one...so we'll leave it at that. I'm doing my best to enter 2008 with a new attitude.
The best of 2007 -- watching my kids accomplishments. Erienne finishing school and passing her state board exams and Taylor's football team winning the 5A State Football Championship. In general, just having a great relationship with all three of my kids.
Edited to add: I almost forgot a really big best for ME. I've lost 50 lbs in 2007...YAY for me. Except for now I need to add exercise into 2008...that could be a WORST in 2008.
Good riddance 2007...Welcome 2008!!!
This is interesting to me because I actually own several reborn dolls...a couple which I purchased from highly regarded reborn doll artists. They are intermingled in with my bears on shelves or in doll cradles that my dad had made for my daughter which she no longer wanted. I've actually been thinking of selling most of them...need bear supplies.
Having admitted this now...I would no more take one of them to a doll show and carry it around like a real baby or push it around in a pram then I would dye my hair bright orange. I've always loved dolls of all sorts and so wish I had some of my dolls from when I was a child. I'm just amazed that they can take a blank doll canvas and make them look almost real. I'm sure some of the doll collectors would think some of us bear folks are equally as nuts the way we talk to and about our bears.
