guys just wondering, how does artist get featured in the articles? I would like my teacher to be featured... and anyone know which german magazines to order? like the bar report or teddy& co.. or other german magazines... any help would be appreciated.... thanks all...
 `ming
HI Tami.. this is such a great idea, like kris kringle right? Now im really feeling the sprit of xmas in Taiwan thanks to you!... but im new at making bear so im wondering if it's ok that i use design of other bear artist? but im going to handsew it myself ... can i still join?
 ~ ming
I know its kind of late but never late than never, Congrats bobbie... and lynette is right, the competition was very tough. lots of great works and winning this is not that easy..  I was lucky to have the shirt... im sure lynette will get back to you regarding the details to order the shirt. There are also other designs which are pretty cool....
btw, hope your feeling better lynette? you said you were sick.... please do take care and Liz does still bring a smile to my face and my collegue here in my office loves her! absolutely adorable!
actually 1" high needle i find it too small for me.. i think bec my fingers are pretty fat
i usually get the 1.5" needle for quilting or pathwork like what others are saying.. thin needles lessen the chance of enlarging the holes so that when u stuff your bear, some of the cotton will not be visible..
when i first started, i use too thick needles and good thing my teacher corrected me.. hope to see your work soon
i would suggest if your not sure, request to buy sample swatches, if no swatches are available, than maybe buy just 1/4 of the material so that your not spending that much. this way, if its the color that ur looking for, u can just place another order right?
Even if you get the seller banned, they will just create another email account than do it again.. trust me, i see some on yahoo tw of some artist, they sell the kit but im wondering if they asked permission from the artist. the kit cost less than 3x the kit selling in our school!
I guess its ok to use the pattern as practice but not to sell it. selling it is really low of them.. but with those people, they will get there karma one day. dont worry!
but im just wondering, lets say i use someone pattern, than sell the bear off at cost of material plus little labor, is that not allowed? because i dont have that much of a budget and space and after practicing, i rather sell it off so that i can buy more materials to make other bears for practice? because i dont want to step on anyone in that case...
thanks melissa and laura for your insight.. maybe i will take a try also at intercalg fabrics and other supplier to see what works best . but i heared helmbold products fray alot, is that true?
 Ming
hi guys.. i just cant help asking but how do u compare the mohair of each of the suppliers? I mean intercaltg may have some fabrics which are the same as lets say edinburg.. but how do u compare because they use different codes . It does help to canvas and compare prices if they are the same quality right?
well i hope lynette will be bringing some of those japanese cloth she is saying since you will be in the taiwan teddy bear show.. hope to meet ur acquantance..
yikes.. did i make the cut off? i write too late

wow.. cool.. i need to get started too...
Ali, you remember what month the article in teddy bear club international? bec i would love to read the article on how to draw the gusset and all.. i never drawn a pattern yet so this will be my first time and that article would surely help me.
Paula, love ur challenge and ur tips on drawing the foot is pretty good. can't wait to draw my own legs, but i just need to figure other parts hahhaha i hpe my work will look like a bear or some type of animal and not a mutated animal
cute little mousey by the way shirley.. nice one.. i think i will try sassy thread soon, heared its pretty nice...
me! me count me in please.... this would be fun... but i dont understand what u meant by commercial design? can't wait to try it out!...
I just organized some of my stuff yesterday and realized putting left over mohair and etc in zip lock plastics does make it organized. I put them all inside this box than label it as u guys have suggested gosh, it look pretty neat! I just wish i can get my hands on those kmart boxes..
And i like those containers where u can place your washer, t-pin and disk.. they look so organized...
Im starting to make minibears, so i separate my tool box from the regular ones. I even have a bag made to the size of the tool box! hehhehe...
hi fred, what a lovely bear.. so cute.. wish you luck! since your joining, i wont bother .. it seems so much tough competition and i just started in my mini bear hehhe
hope you will look for me when your in taiwan ok?
I am part of the bear garden staf... cant wait to see your bear in person... have a wonderful flight!
wow.. what great suggestions! . i love all your ideas and will see what works for me from your suggestions.. im only organized when it comes to my eyes and beads, the rest are in one whole box..while the rest is god knows where
. but i do love the container of Wendy... maybe i will ask my friend to get those because we dont have kmart here
.. they look great! thanks all again. ~ming
I got so many excess materials from previous bear such as mohair and yet i got some felt type of material, and some paw pad... how do you keep them organized? If i put it in a clear file, they get too heavy and might break the plastic envelope.
. any tips? how do you keep the joints organized as well???? hmmmm....
thanks
same here i use something that looks like zip lock but cheaper .. than i would number it with a sticker label and drop it inside a clear file where each pattern gets there own space. Actually i would also include the actually pattern before cutting it out so that in case i want to do changes, i still have the original. .. i keep another file of the bears that i use and took note of what pattern no... and yes, it does seem to fill up, good thing i got a 2" ring binder for those!
I just need ideas how to keep my materials as organized.
He looks good to me.. still cute and i love your style to give him an aged look and the few thread on the ears and on the tummy, nice touches... hmmm maybe on my next bear i will do just that...
im just wondering, if u shade it and the bear gets dirty one day, won't the shading wear off? do you apply those copic pen directly to the bear? won't the colors appear too dark?
Shayne that was a brilliant idea.. im going to give that a try on my next mini bear and share that with my friend who got tempted to sew minibear after seeing me dong it. It really does helps that u illustrate it, thanks so much...
ruth and the rest of you guys have been great. i really appreciate the tip and do learn from all of your experience. i have just sew my first mini-bear and it looks ok, but the ear thread did show abit and i did wish that i use invisible thread as u guys suggested, i read it too late once i finish it by this week, ill start with another  and hope it turn out great...
i still cant decide what color to order from sassy! her dye are to die for! gosh... so many color, but so little budget
wow.. these are some great tips.. i've just started sewing 2months ago and when i saw caya's bear  and ingrid  to name a few, i just went gaga over those mini bear. I guess i need to really handle this tiny things with gentle care, im afraid im kind of rough with it yesterday i just had my first try in cutting out the mini bear and hope it turns out great.
what thread would u guys recomment for mini-bear? some say upholstery... i want my first mini-bear to look good... it will be my anniversay gift to my boyfriend.. hope it look like a bear once im finished with it! :P
