Hmmm so no luck there.

Do any of you Edinburgh shoppers know of a similar mohair to purchase from there?  Or perhaps someone else who sells mohair might have a cream color in this length and finish?

thank you

So adorable!  Love your work!

How odd.....I tried to view the video but can't see it unless I subscribe bear_sad

I need to get my hands on, or would like to at least, some of Intercal's KID9/H in 528s (cream) but they don't carry it any longer.

I realize they are using KID9S/C but I don't like the finish as much.

If anyone has any pieces lying around that aren't earmarked for projects could you PM me?

thanks very much

Gina

Feliway--tried it too with no luck

Nature's Miracle--a bit expensive when covering larger areas but works like a charm and worth every penny in my books.

Like Becky we were down to two cats and now one lonely one.  At our peek we had seven but liked to keep it around three until our big headache.  Never thought males would be such an issue considering our males have always been the more cuddly/lovey.

Hope you find a solution

That was the real unfortunate part of our situation.  My new kitten started his marking/accidents and then my older fixed male joined in.

By the time we realized it (being that the adults never go down into the kids TV room) both couches were covered, just covered with pee stains.  I was horrified by how unsanitary and awful the situation was.

Once we sadly removed the wee one, the older one quit his contribution and we were back to normal.

I was told by the vet, the SPCA and other sources that having two males in a household, even fixed males, exponentially increases the chances of marking behaviour.  Apparently they just are too territorial and can't handle other males sharing the space.

:(

I guess it's a female cat if we ever decide to try again.

ursidae

Have you been back to the vet to mention that since his surgery his marking behaviour has increased dramatically?  Wonder if they might have some suggestions?

We had an issue with a male kitten we got last year.  Pretty much right from the beginning he had accidents on our bed--then the kids beds, then the furniture--got progressively worse with time.

Looooooong story shortish....we tried everything you could buy from the store and we had him fixed but it only got worse.  He ended up peeing all over both the sofa and the loveseat to the point they had to be taken to the dump.

First things first take him to the vet.  There may be nothing practical that can be done (our vet suggested feline counseling :S) but it's a start.

Sadly for us, we eventually had to get rid of our cat because it was just too much pee and I couldn't deal with it any longer.

Hope your story turns out better.  bear_original

I'm confused a bit....so when you fuse the two pieces together for a mouse or rabbit ear for example....do you sew around the outer edge or just trim it so it has a clean, scissor cut edge?

Great question btw bear_original

I love the style of all your bears and cherish the one of yours I have bear_original  I love the idea of the beary wings and toadstool!

The dog in this video seems to like getting brushed:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuuiugFEmu4

He's all rolling around as if to say, "Scratch me here!"  :D

I read that a lot of people spin their dog's hair into yarn and knit things from it.  There is a name for it, even:  Chiengora: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiengora

They say that chiengora is even warmer than wool.

But what about wearing your sweater in the rain....don't know if I'd want to smell like wet dog

We had a Retriever/Lab cross and holy geez did that brush work like a charm especially when she was shedding, I swear I got a whole puppy off of her in less than half an hour.

I also found it worked on my Ragdoll cats, just had to be sure to brush very gently.

ursidae

Oooohhh I like it!  Very clever and her long mane/tail....lovely!

ursidae

I tend to use Shelli's method with involves glue.  Do you have a particular reason why you are trying to avoid using glue?  It may be that way is the simpliest.

ursidae

I love the colors...did you dye the fur yourself?

:)

My worst gift....I have always been somewhat more fashion conscious than my family.  I like to look nice, trendy, hot bear_happy  So for some unknown/insane reason when I was in my mid-20's, my step mom bought me a granny housecoat and a high neck flannel nightie--just like hers :S  They were pink (hate pink) the nightie had scratchy lace and covered every minute inch of skin on my body.  The moo-moo style housecoat was velour (bleck) and zipped up the front.  Really sooooooo NOT me.....still kinda curious how she thought this would be the 'perfect' gift for G?  Maybe a hint.....she was 'takin' [INVALID] back' bear_happy

I suppose i had better own up to my gift misdemeanours...
I have never had a bad gift given to me because everyone knows i would kill them, slowly and with an audience.
  I almost have no shame when it comes to telling family what i want - they ask, so i tell 'em and heaven help 'em if they don't take my advice...............it's what families are for.
However, and here's the awful truth, i am more than happy to buy a gift for someone who has been a pain in the arse all year with revenge in mind........think a beautiful expensive (i'm not a tightwad just evil) dress that i knew the person really really wanted but oh dear, it was a size too small - i spent many a happy hour knowing that it would have to returned to the shop for an exchange for a larger size (the worse case scenario for any woman worth her salt) or a full refund (as i said, i'm not a tightwad and am more than happy that they should spend the money on something else they liked once i had humiliated them).

Obviously i have not inherited any kindly genes from my parents but the wicked sense of humour has been passed on.
Forgive me girls, i am a worm but it's great to confess at last (and you all thought i was nice).

If you go to GOOGLE and search for wax dipped bears in the Images search....you'll get a bunch of pics to see.

NOT my thing......but to each their own I guess.

Try giving him or her a wee haircut.  You can cut off your nose and mouth and use some pliers to pluck the muzzle.  Sometimes that gives some definition to the face.  bear_original

I am a huge muzzle plucker    I usually pluck all the way around the muzzle, basically all the bits that stick out from the face....not the face itself, just the snout.

Try it.  bear_original  Ya never know.

Also, you can try placing the ears in different positions:  high on top of the head, folded in half, low on the head, following the head seams etc

Look at the bears for sale and get some ideas for plucking and ear placement and then give it a try.  Little bits at a time.  It's easier to take more off than to correct an over pluck.

You can email me privately if you'd like some other ideas  bear_flower

Woody from Toy Story ;)

Will that work?

ursidae

Wow.....sure makes me feel dumb that the only quotes I can come up with or recognize are the ones from kiddie movies bear_happy
