I just noticed it on another post. Very impressive. I like the colours and the link to Australia. They make your bears stand out.
I would go for the tail only. Have a look on ebay at the mermaid dolls, they are divine. There are some lovely fabrics you can use. Sequins would be good to. Can't wait to see it, let us know as to what you do.
I have just done a 3" Koala (I will get pictures done soon) using the Sassy long pile in grey. I would say it was very easy to use and does not need fray checking. I also had some thin curved needles which realy helped. I used the onyx bead eyes. I really like the fabric and have some smokey which I have not used yet. For the 3/4" that would be ideal. Good luck and just shout if you need to know more.
Characters from the Christmas Carol, Tiny Tim, Christmas present, past, future. Christmas friends for your bears like penguins, mice and robins.
Elizabeth is so cute, and I'm not a baby person. My daughter is 10 so the grandma thing is hopefully ages off. You don't look old enough Jenny, and no I'm not creeping, look at Jenny's web site. You must be a young nana.
Mine only get half finished. I have a half done mini pink bear. The head ended up being too big. At least the next one was was better because I learnt from it. The ones I don't like I get my husband to sell on ebay. Best of it he does a story type write up and gets more than I can. Sympathy vote I think.
Plenty of pictures, see you soon.
I have been self employed since I was 21 and am now 37. I have owned a menswear shop (loads of money at the time, but things never last), a pine and teddy bear shop (not enough money in it), a slimming group leader(not Weight Watchers, Slimming World, still do that) and I make bears. I just say I help people lose weight, its loads easier than explaining about the bears. My husband helps me with the slimming and he does not have to get 'a proper job'. He has the harder time explaining. Only the other week my Mother-in-law said she thought we were both claiming sickness benefit, nothing wrong with that, but we aren't sick! I know some people scam this goverment, but crickey, my own family think that. Its hard when you don't do a conventional job, but all said and done what we do for a living doesn't define who we are. Still, people must wonder how we get by, I'm sure their imagination must run wild.
They are so lovely. What a nice mum to get them for her daughter.
Thanks Kim for all your input. I like making miniatures even if they don't sell as well for me. You give us all something to aspire to.
Don't they teach religous education in schools anymore? Kids hey. My daughter goes a church of England school and has been to a Synagogue (hope thats how you spell it), Mosque and goes to the local church. We are not practising Church of England, but I like that she learns all these things. Its her desicion later. You have to laugh though at the kids. Her school is St Matthews so I will have to tell her he drove the taxis to make ends meet.
As to the last one, they could be right!!!!
I hope all goes well. My Auntie is 60 and has been having trouble with her eyes. She is better than she was a few months ago. Like everyone says hang in there.
Fran I once sent a paypal payment back (don't ask how I did it) to the sender and I had already sent the bear. She was great and sent me it again. I'm always doing ditsy things. Good luck, this lady is probably like me and done something wrong.
I use easy templates where I copy and paste them. If it makes you feel better I put the photos on from my photo hosting service then ran my auction. Then I decided to 'tidy' my photo hosting site and deleted them. Of course they then disappeared off my auction. Luckily I clicked in and loaded the photos back onto my hosting site and they appeared again on my listing. You're not the only one!
Good advice. Make sure you have accepted the payment. I had to do that the first time I had a payment. Mine goes straight in now and I can see at a glance. The one this morning I had to accept as the sale was in dollars and I ticked the box to accept in sterling. Then I can also tick the box to covert any future transactions to pounds and they will go straight in. You always get an email from paypal telling you that you have received a payment, so thats important. Let us know how you go on.
Heavy stuff. It comes to something when you have to do that. Good on them for fighting back.
Well done. Just make sure your customs stickers are filled in right. The post office is there to help you. Stop worrying and enjoy! I was the same for my first shipment abroad, it all went fine.
Penny and myself are OK too, thanks.
Someone suggested using clear packaging tape for tags and small patterns. A good cheap idea. It would be great to have a proper laminator though.
You got the eyes so right. I can't wait to show Amy tomorrow. Her bunny died last year and its so similar, its spooky. Can't wait to see more.
I 'm really into minis at the moment. Well until I get bored and move onto something else. The nose was easier than I thought but had to be a bit big to fit the eye in. I have also ordered some resin ones from Sassys. Keep posting the pictures girls. I really enjoy your ideas.
Kim I'm sure your partner will get in touch. Don't worry if they don't and you can't find anyone else for Christmas I will swap with you. I'm with Penny but I won't see you left out. I can swap a mini with you. I don't think it will come to that though. Not to worry.
Whos Jimmy Durante?
I have just finished my yet unnamed bear. I tried the fimo nose with glass eye inside idea. Its a bit bigger than I wanted for the face but its not too bad. Its 3 1/4" tall from that black backed fabric that Sassy does. I'll put it on ebay Sunday. I'm looking forward to getting some more miniature stuff, like thinner needles and a thin curved needle. It will make life much easier.
Well theres a guiding hand of fate. Of course I don't mind who I got. I will get in touch by email. Nice one everyone.
