The head is NOT too small, the eyes are NOT to big and the arms are perfect!!
I guess it all depends on who's looking, but this bear is my favorite that I've seen of yours. I really like the shape of the nose.
Can't wait to see more mohair bears from you,
Heather

Kathy, my sister lives in Florida, and that's where they USED to have the teddy bear museum. So I guess they do aprreciate teddies. Problem was, my sister, not knowing what to expect, took her kids there. She was very dissapointed that the kids couldn't play with the bears. Imagine all those poor bears if they could!!!!!!!

So it ended up shutting down, I just wish more people were educated on 'artist' bears.

Hopefully, it's just not a sign of the times.

And funny, now that you mention it, all the stuff of mine that went to Florida were mini. Interesting.

Oh yeah, good morning to you to!!!!

Heather

I wished we all lived on the same block. That way we could play with all that mohair, and swaps, including scraps would be very easy!!!

Heather

psichick78

That's great, you may sell some bears, or they will remmeber you for later, such a birthdays or christmas.
Gotta love advertising like that eh??

Heather

psichick78

Congrats!! That is soo cool. I'll try and watch out for you.
You will be soo close, maybe it's a good excuse to drive to Edmonton and see your table. Maybe my little niece that lives there would like to go. Huummm..........

Heather

psichick78

I feel soo smart!!!!
I got them all right. Must be my day today.
Heather

Sue Ann!! A woman after my own heart.
For us it's 2 TV's, a king size bed, and one day to ourselves a week.

Heather

psichick78

Danni, you use that?? How do you find it. I remember I signed up for it, and a couple people signed up, but I found it 'weird' to use.

Good advice though, I forgot all about it.

Heather

psichick78

Oh Fran, people are soo mean. I think it makes them feel better to put you down.

Kathy, when I sold my art on ebay ( havent for a while ) MOST of my buyer ended up being in Floria. Maybe there, they have a good appreciation for art?? Interesting though

Heather

I've never thread jointed a non-felted a bear before, but if I were going to I would knot the thread and put that knot inside the limb, right where you would put the disk. Then stuff as you normally would and I imagine you wouldn't get any dimples that way.

Hope this helps,

Heather

psichick78

Oh Shari! Men eh?? LOL
Like watching TV is quality time anyway. At least on here you learn stuff.
Men can be soo #@@@*# sometimes.
Heather

psichick78

Shari, it's easy!!
Blind carbon copy = BCC
You should see BCC right under where you put the address. So, send the email to yourself, then under it, in BCC, put all the other addy's in there. That way, when they get the email, it only shows your address.
Does that make sense???
Do you love me furever now??  bear_grin bear_ermm

Heather

psichick78

Clare, if you go to
robshelp.com
THere is a free template and instructions to make your own 'about me' page.

Heather

psichick78

What a great job!!!!!
I love everything about that bear!!
heather

psichick78

Yup, I'm more than convinced!!!  k015.gif
Heather

psichick78

Honestly, no. Because if I, or my hubby had an attachment we keep it. That includes all my felties and sculptures.
Although, there was one bear, who I did end up missing, as I stored him beside our computer. But that all changed when the buyer emailed me to tell me how much and her husband loved the bear. So that's good.
I hope you get the same sort of email.
Which bear was this??
Heather

psichick78

I'll take a picture soon of my studio. I've been meaning to anyway as it's the 1st room I've ever altered or painted. It's very nice to own your own home. But it's an easy way to show all i have

Okay, so keep in mind that I'm pretty new to bearmaking.
I have a bin that I can fit into and close the top. It's FULL of mohair
I have a smaller bin that would fit about 12 pop cans, that's full of pawpad and mini bear material.
Hardly any ribbon, anyone selling a lot of ribbon or something??
Lots of joints, cotter pins etc.
TONNES of eyes
More poly clay than I'll ever use
And a lifetime of fabric!!! My poor grandparents no longer have their drapery/quilting business, so I inherited all the fabric. If you guys ever need drapery material............
Isn't collecting this stuff half the fun though?? I sure think so.

Daphine, you DO have alot!!! LOL

Heather

I use mountain mist that I get at walmart. Not sure if you could find it. But it's a ployester stuffing, but it's not slippery, and packs really firm if you want it. So that's what I use and I've never had a problem.

Heather

psichick78

Terri, it is a great course. I'm soo lovin' it!!!!

Kim, you are so helpfull. THanks a bunch.
I'm going to try and sculpt then. I started out as a sculpter, so that part is easy, but I get confused as to how to fit the paper towel. I think I will try after your description. I have all these ideas for other animals, so I guess sculpting would be a good way to do. I also can think in 3D. The head is the toughest part. For me anyway.

Maybe I'll even try with a dragon I already have sculpted.

You're the best!!

Heather

psichick78

Terri, that looks soo cool! I'm glad you've mentioned that it wsa printable fabric. I was pulling my hair out, wondering how you print so small and so neat!!! LOL

I guess I better start putting tags on my bears eH? Ahh, so much to do....

Heather

psichick78

You are very talented. I love the variety in your work.
THanks for sharing, love to see pictures!
Heather

psichick78

Wow, good score!!! Happy anniversary!!
I want a memory foam pillow to! Thanks for giving me a good xmas wish list idea.

Heather

psichick78

Wow, somany crazy things happening on ebay.

I know that a very popluar fairy artist, who would make TONNES of money. She was supsended for shill bidding. Amazing. Most people would be happy to fetch just half of what she gets, but I guess people get greedy.

Like I've said before, ebay can be one  big popularity contest.

Question though, If I change my seller ID name, do I have to start out with 0 feedback?? For example I always name everything psichick78. Just like here. But what if I want to have my ebay ID as teddybears or something. Would I have to start fresh with the feedback then?

Also, great ideas on multiple accts. WHen I do start selling my original bears, people will be able to go in and see that I've bought other artists patterns and some teddy making books. Now I wish they werent able to see that. But at the same time, it can be good if you are the buyer.

Heather

psichick78

Oh wow guys, Great tips. But I'm left with a couple of questions

What is a stay-stitch?? Is that the same as basting?

And, please don't laugh, pleeease. What do you mean the bias?? Which way is that??

I am glad that you gals do have to do some easing. I find that mostly true when I do the footpads and the gusset/nose part. I really hope to create my own pattern that doesn't need alot of easing.

Judi writes
"When you are sewing, depending how you insert your needle, you can unknowingly be easing one side of your sewing...hence, one side of your head gusset is longer then the other."
So is the best thing to make sure you insert your needle straight into both pieces??

Penny, great tips, Thanks. I'm like you, when I've made another artists pattern, I also thought the pattern was wrong, but it was just me not knowing.

I like the idea of leaving the gusset a little longer, just in case. I've found there are a few drastically different ways of fitting the gusset to the side pieces, and I usually end up doing both sides different.

Dilu, great idea to write as if that person has never sewn an inch. I was one of those before.

And everyone else, thanks. Back to the drawing board.

Heather

psichick78

I can't lick my elbow, but my coworker here can.
Very funny though. Interesting facts.
