Notice the word 'Free' came first I just wondered if anyone knew of a waistcoat pattern available on the web?? My mother in law has just retired and has offered to make some bear clothes for me -
but I need some patterns to give to her!!
Many thanks!!
I work too much, eat too much chocolate, drive too fast........oh you mean crafts?? Sorry, on totally the wrong thread there for a moment
Before the bear bug bit, I used to paint, cross-stitch, do dough craft (LOVED that!!) etc etc. I once sewed around 200 little lavender pillows to sell!!!
Bears have taken over though.....but I am so intrigued with Kim and Nancy's sculpting, I might try my hand at that when I need a break (sometimes I need a break - do you??!) Although where I'll put clay supplies etc - heaven only knows  And I'll probably create little lumps of nothing!!
Fine art dears!!
It'll keep me out of trouble!!
I never thought to brush it out, what a lovely effect!
Here's one of my very first bears in string mohair (don't laugh too loud, I might hear you!!) but you will get the effect - well it might put you off!!
Her name was Madison.
Hi Tami!!
I'm sure, like the rest of us, once you start designing your own patterns, you'll be hooked!! I am, I have visions racing around in my head, and then when I find a pattern I like I can make a few bears from that same pattern, they'll all be different in some way, I generally do OOAKs. Or I'll tweak it a bit here and there to make the next bear a bit different - it's amazing!!! You won't be able to stop!! And I KNOW you're going to be amazing too!!
The possibilities are endless.........
Kim, thank you so much - I'm absolutely amazed by your fairy - you've really inspired me!! (Should be absolutely hilarious!!) I shall probably sculpt something that vaguely resembles a potato!!
I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes I want to create something different from bears, just for a change. I don't make anything else (I've tried things like knitting and such with disastrous results!!)
Many thanks Kim, you're a diamond
Hi Dilu!!
On yer tod means 'on your own'.
Valentines Day, mmmm................ Doesn't that romantic stuff just happen in the films????
Ooooh Kim, I'm in LOVE!!! You are a SUPER TALENTED LADY!! What do you make these out of, what is the art called, and do you know of any links about this type of sculpting?? Sorry, I'm so intrigued and I've never seen anything quite so exquisite before.....
Ooooh Debbie, meant to say, I love a bear with a centre seam which is shaded and very noticeable. Have you seen any of Wanda Carson's lovely bears?? She is a member here, they're lovely Can't wait to see him finished
PS In case you're wondering if I'm wandering around with saggy, wrinkly stockingsv
because they've all had the tops chopped off - it's OK I don't wear them!
Oh Vicky, this made me laugh!! I've got all sorts of tights, stockings, pop socks etc hanging around for the exact same reason, I sometimes wonder what people think when they visit!!
Helena, she is a real sweetie, you bear's faces are so cute!! Gina must be so pleased
Ewww Erin, that's scary, I'm so sorry that happened to you
What do you use now?? Is there an alternative to paypal??
Well Nancy, I love your website, it must have been lovely for Carrie to create (not that I have any idea of how to even start one :D!! - mine cost me a fortune and isn't at all inspiring or in the least bit exciting - ) and your dolls........ boy you are a very talented lady!!
Does anyone remember BJ and the Bear?? I used to LOVE that show!!
Oh Nancy, I adore them, in fact I went to your website to see if there were any more to see, I can't remember ever visiting you site before for some reason, WHAT AN ENCHANTING EXPERIENCE!!! It's absolutely lovely, I'm soooo jealous, I want one like that, and the dolls too!!! Did you do it yourself?? And do you mould those dolls yourself too???
Sorry, questions questions!!!
Awww Jane......you're beautiful!!! Don't be puttin' yourself down like that - you're one of the loveliest people I know - slap your wrist!!!
Like I say to my nan, whose comments about my weight, skin, hair or whatever comes to her head first are never complimetary (believe me - if I took it to heart I'd top myself!! ) I am what I am!!!!
  Love ya!!
I know - it's SUCH a hard question and I would SERIOUSLY love love love to spend a day with each and every one, I'm a visual person - that's my excuse for the question!!! Perhaps we should all get webcams!!
What with all the overwhelming talent in this forum, I sometimes drift away on a daydream and think.......I'd love to spend the day with Judi learning to airbrush....then spend the day with Dilu to see those Gollies being created.....then a day with Aleta in her wonderful studio.....then a day with Shelli to see those brilliant eyelids being done.....then a day with Penny in her new sewing room......then a day with SueAnn as I'm fascinated to find out how she does her noses....well actually if I had the chance I'd LOVE to visit you ALL and spend the day.......I'd be no trouble!!!
This is only for fun!!
If I had a magic wand and could grant you a day with ONE other artist on the forum, who would it be and why??
Me?? If I HAD to choose, and gosh that's so hard, I'd love to visit Judi and her airbrush!!
Hi Kim,
I love that cheeky bottom photo!!! Lookin' good girl!!!
Actually I've just got this FAB photo editing programme this weekend, and have been playing with 'black and white' and 'antique' photography on it - it's brilliant - something else to waste valuable bear making time on!!
Hi Jenn,
My hang tag is folded in two, on the front is a picture of one of my bears (I change the pic from time to time), then on the inside I have: on one side - material, filling, eyes and accessory details, then on the other side - edition and date. On the back I have my website address, email and age warning.
Hope you get what I mean!! You could just leave the website off (I haven't always had one!) and I don't have a logo as such, just my business name and a picture. I would put an email address on though, people can contact you then.
I hope this helps!! Good luck!!
I am a self confessed addict.
My computer broke down last weekend and I haven't been able to get an engineer to come until tomorrow, so how am I here??? I moaned so much about missing my PC, my husband kept asking 'what's wrong??' when I couldn't sit still or get on with anything, and I kept calling my dad and moaning some more, they got me a computer from the office to use until I get mine fixed!!! Bless them..
Phew....I missed all of you!!! It's so nice to be back and besides that, if you're gone too long it could take an age to catch up with the posts!!!
I always look to see who's online first too!! I don't get chance to catch up with all the posts all the time.....but I have a great time trying!!
Oh Helena.....those eyes!! Just beautiful!!! Little Helena will be so pleased and treasure her forever I'm sure.
I bought a whole load of mounting board, which I'm pretty sure is the same as poster board, just what we Brits call it!! I picked it up at my local art shop.
Awww Gina,
Your bear is adorable - I'm in love............... it so reminds me of my brother's puppy.....I'll have to post an up to date picture when I get to see her!!!
Great job!!!
