Yes, I received the same message. I haven't been here for a while either, so it was kind of a wake up moment. Life is just so busy.
Going to Hugglets in February and attending University in evening has me totalling occupied. Hope to be here more often now!

Oh Shelley you will be missed. You've been a great help and insightful and sometimes we come to the conclusion it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Life is so short and time runs fast so I know i like to fill my day/week/month with a lot of things, but sometimes there just isn't enough time. As per my absence in months.
I wish you luck in your new endeavours and look forward to "seeing" you in the forum.

They are absolutely beautiful...well done
I thought that only happened to me, cutting out too many of the same pattern and having almost nothing left of the fabric. I've done my share of piecing together just to get a leg or inside arm....
Thank you for all the pictures Jane! It's almost as good as being there...well not quite as my wallet would be a little emptier if I was there.

Thank you All! He is only 10" tall. I can't seem to make any bigger ones anymore. I started off doing bigger ones but now they all stay around 10 or 11 inches.

It's called painting the fence before the snow sets in this weekend. And making bears as it's a nice long weekend to concentrate on finishing them without worrying about going back to work on Monday.

Hallo,
I've made my first panda bear. He is a donation towards our 3rd annual Winnipeg Bear Show at the end of September. We all decide a theme for the donation bear and it was pandas this year. I really enjoyed making him and will probably make another one.

Hi all,
Just thought i would throw the question out there and ask if anyone knows where i can find flex limbs. Most of my bears have them now and they are so hard to find.
I've tried Spare Bear Parts but their phone isn't working and no answer to my emails.
Does anyone have know where i could get them with short shipping times?
Thanks
carola
Lucky you... he is absolutely adorable and I can see why you got him......

Hi Shari,
Sorry to hear you missed it. I thought the face book looked great. What a great advertising tool.
I met the deadline, however i completed the wrong form. I was sent the one for advertising, so in my blonde head i assumed this was part of the face book and that you had to pay to be part of it as well.... oh well... maybe i'll get it right the next time around.
Then we can fill up the Canadian section.

They have the same regulations here in Manitoba.... (sorry just came across this post). I had tags made and i attach them to my bears, but they can easily be removed if the buyer wanted to take them off. I was able to design the labels myself with the minimum of information, as long as your registration number is on there i think they are happy.
I thought it might be to my advantage to have them attached if i am going to shows across the border. Once I mistakenly mentioned when i was going to Kansas that i was selling bears.... well i was taken to the little room and they asked to see one of my bears, fortunately i also have a tag on it saying it is from winnipeg, manitoba. After the inspector was wandering around with my bear for 20 minutes he just suggested to have the label say winnipeg, canada on it. When i returned from my trip i mentioned i was at a trade show and i had no problems.
My personal opinion is that it is just another way for the government to collect money from us little vendors.

We are having a quiet evening at home, watching dvd's and ringing in the new year with a friend that happens to be alone this night. We just got a dump of snow last night. Approximately 8inches, so it's a good thing that we aren't going anywhere because the roads are horrible right now.
Tomorrow my mom and me are going to Salute to Vienna... I sent my mom and dad last year and they really enjoyed it, now my dad is sending me and my mom.
Have a happy new year everyone!
