May we ask which artist bear you were eyeing?

Not to show my age, BUT When I was little I collected the AMerican Girl dolls. There's a doll named Kirsten. I got my first book from my aunt when I was 6. Then there were only 3 girls. I still have Kirsten, Molly, Samantha, and Felicity dolls in a trunk in storage. I really wanted all the accessories, they even made nightgowns for the dolls and for you. On one birthday I woke up and went to get breakfast and in the fridge was a new doll dressed up for her birthday with a fake cake and everything.... Geez... I sound like a dork!!

Kirsten

I've heard that some people cut the pattern out of the mohair first and then dye it, but not sure if that would work in this case. Let us know what you end up doing.....

Kirsten

Golly Christmas list are alwasy so hard for me.....

1. Baby stuff - fun girlie stuff!
2. Diapers - start early
3. My waist back - I'd love to touch my toes!
4. Mohair or New sewing machine
5. Extra money to have dates with hubby

I'm not a big jewelry person, I dont wear what I already have. I love getting gift certificates from my students so I can go eat with hubby or see a movie or buy something later when I realize I need it.

I really drive my family nuts. Always had to work to figure out a list. I'm not a big "me" person. I don't "want" alot. What I really need is a maid and someone organized to get my stuff together for me!! Oh and naybe a massage!

Okay I'm done ranting....  bear_wub

I live in Southern California..... There's been a heat wave here, we were in the high 80s for a few weeks, it cooled down to the high 70s this week. Sure hard to get into the Holiday spirit when you are wearing tank tops and shorts.

I live 5 mins from the beach and this weekend they had a sand-snowman making contest!! Some of the kids I teach have never seen snow.... When it rains here, people act like its the end of the world and can not drive!! I'd hate to see southern Cali's all have to drive in snow!! I laugh so hard when we have a day or two of rain and its announced on the news as "Storm Watch 2004" like its huge and catastrophic!  bear_grin

Kirsten

We add onions, celery, dried cranberries, and orange juice (and maybe some nuts)
We tried adding apples, but its kinda chewy! (to me, hubby likes it)

Kirsten

One night last winter they were filming at the bearch, my hubby and  I were all bundles up with our coffee and there was this glow coming from down the beach. They had so many lights set up, it was as bright as day!

I use 3 lights now but definitely need to get more. When building my light tent I found the joints to be the most expensive part. The pipe it self was only a few bucks...

Kirsten

I've read the notebook and the wedding. I also saw the notebook. I think all movies made from books are not as good, but this one was pretty good. SOme differences, but not too bad. I would probably go as far to say I'd watch the movie again!

Kirsten

I like chocolate, but can't eat it right now..... Anything too sweet makes my stomach hurt. My sweetest thing I eat now is apples. I'm hoping after the baby, I will be able to eat the yummy chocolate!!!

Kirsten

  Thanks Shelli - You are a gem........

Kirsten

Hey all, I'm putting these on ebay this weekend, if I don't forget!!
You can email pr PM me if you are interested to buy them before ebay, but I gotta get them outa my house!!

Rabbit - $35
Raccoon - $30
Oppossuum - $10 or free to a good home on TT.

I'd even swap them with someone if they wanted to try something different- fur wise.  bear_grin

Kirsten

Sory, I am going as a collector.

Sue Anne!! I was hoping to see you at this show!

Kirsten

I know, I am keeping a few.....

I just won't get to all the fur, and I have a tiny place, in need of a crib and baby area.
I just can't keep my coats any longer, unless I know for sure I will use them.......

I'll try selling them on ebay...

Kirsten

Hen I started to want to make bears, I only collected real fur bears and thats the only kind I wanted to make, so I bought lots of coats when I found good deals.

Well, reality set in, real fur takes time. I don't have the time I use to have.

Anyways, it has donned on me also, that in 4 months I need a crib to fit into my tiny place and lots of fur need to be thinned out.

So I am going to list some coats on ebay, but thought I'd offer thme here first to my friends.
Here's what I have:

The best I have right now, a varigated rabbit fur coat with large collar. New, but the hem was loose so I peeked at the leather of the pelts... so soft and not dry or brittle. This coat I never used, cuz I wanted to wear it, but in So. Cal, when will I wear real fur coat! I'm sad to part with it, but I need to.. Paid $45-60 for it.

A lovely raccoon coat, in good condition. I have 2 raccoon fur bears. Love the way it looks, but just never got around to using this coat. Probably paid $35-50 for it.

Not so great oppossum coat. Super long, kinda shows wera and tear near pockets and bottom hem. Got this with a bunch of other coats. Would be fun to play with. I did cut a bear body out of it to try. Whew, really cool long guard hairs, but too much work for me several years ago.
Probably paid $20 for it.

I'd love to experiment with these coats, but they take up so much room, which I can't give up.
Anyone interested? Make me an offer!

Kirsten

Hi
I also use MS publisher. I found a place online that will print cards on both sides for $16.50.
http://www101.iprint.com/cgi-shl/index. … 4&shop=100
I create my layout on my computer and then transfer it to the print site. Right now I have one-sided cards that I use for hangtags and business cards. When using them for hangtags I add an insert. This is easier to show than say.

This is my business card and outside of my hangtag.

This is the insert I glue to the inside of my card. I fold the whole thing before holepunching and adding to the bear with ribbon.

The main reason to use a straightening product is to prevent the frizzy hair later, the products keep the moisture out. I use a brand called Enjoy or Redkin.

FYI:
Those that like their hair curly, can also use the straightener products, makes the hair really curly and not frizzy! I use it everyday, curly or straight!!

Kirsten

Hey you all!
Thanks so much for the sweet comments and encouraging words.

I feel so wonderfully blessed to be pregnant and having a girl is the icing on the cake. My mom and I have a really cool close relationship. She's my best girlfriend. I can't wait to have something similar with my own daughter.

My hubby has already bought a few pink outfits for her. He really wants to do things girlie, but I have to live with all the girlie stuff and am trying to keep him within limits (NO PINK WALLS)

Jenn - I could use some sanity and some sleep!

I'm not sure about the nose thing - my hubby has a totally cute nose, but the sticking out of the tongue is probably right on!

She sure is a kicker and measuring on the high end of the scale! She wallops me good all day. During the ultrasound we could see her feet flinging all over!

I really need to get some rest so I can make her and my nephew a bear. Well, maybe forget the nephew.......  LOL

I feel so loved that you all care about my precious peanut baby.

By George, this little girl will be making bears one day if I have a say in things...  She'll have to come to bears shows with me!

Kirsten

Jane sweetie - I'd love to be on your site, but don't have much time to think about this.
Give me some time to gather myself, and I'd love to be "profiled" or whatever!!

Kirsten

bear_grin  Some beary sweet people have been asking about me, the pregnancy and of course the baby.
I obviously have not been around a whole lot. I am busy trying to teach and make a few bears here and there. I am doing well, trying to enjoy the changes to my body.

The pregnancy is coming along just fine. I am 21 weeks along. My belly looks more like its a baby belly than a "too many Krispy Kremes" belly. I have gained some weight and am sleeping worse. No problems to complain about.

The baby is kicking me daily. We had an ultrsound last week to make sure all the fingers and toes were there!
Of course during that process they saw what sex it was.

Did you want to know?

Huh?

I don't hear you all begging to know......

Maybe I should wait to tell you all...

Unless of course you need to know to knit it a hat or booties, or makeit a bear.........

Well, I guess I can share.......IT'S A GIRL!!!

Kirsten

Hi
I'm blonde, sick and pregnant, so bear with me........ Exactly what is the difference between juried and non-juried?  bear_whistle

Kirsten

Back to the original video ---- LOVED IT!! Hubby and I were laughing SO hard! How does one recover from that kinda mistake......

Kirsten

I've had the ones before that said there's someone using my account, or they are going to ssuspend it, but this just looked like a regular old receipt of payment. Really looked like hubby bouight something. They are getting so sneaky.

Kirsten

Hi all!
Today in my email I got a email from Paypal saying that they had received my payment to ELuxury.
I thought my hubby may have bought something, so I took a look.

It looked IDENTICAL to the real Paypal receipts, and it said I had sent almost $300 to E Luxury INC. bear_shocked Of course the catch was there was a nice link at the bottom to dispute those charges... But when you hover over the link, it shows that it doesn't go to PayPal.

Be very careful. I just went directly to my paypal account to see what was going on, and there was nothing there. If you don't know the person in the email, be wary of clicking on any links. I get these things in the name of eBay all the time, but this is the first form Paypal.

Kirsten

I tend to triple it. If I put in $40, I'm asking $125-$135.

Kirsten

I have a bunch of lovely fur coats I need to sell - CHEAP - before baby comes. I am not going to ever get to them in the next 5 months and I can't store them with the baby on the way. I might have to offer them to you gals cheap before I try them on eBay!  bear_grin
