I should not be reading.... Geez.. need to finish my ornament!!

BUT I love all the excitement and the cute ornaments that are already done!

Kirsten

GEEZ - Now I'm so nervous - kinda sorry for th eone who gets mine!! LOL

Daphne - Good to "see" you. Haven't heard form you in a while - I think I emailed you a few months ago??? HA, Who knows!!

Kirsten

Bear with me ladies - I haven't sewn a bear in 2 years.... I finished one for a charity auction before I had a baby, and my baby is 20 months now. I would love to  make an ornament - it will force me to find all my mohair!
I am so excited! Yippee!! I got a lot of work to do!

Kirsten

Jenny - I feel your pain! I was suppose to be healing a broken tibia but after a while of no lessening of Pain, the DRs realized my bone never healed. I can actually understand waiting so long to check it out. I'm sure it hurt, but we women can handle a great deal of pain before we give in! LOL
At least you are in a removable boot and can do weight bearing. Praying it heals well and quickly!

Kirsten

So great to see familar names popping up! Amazing how quick that year went by.
Funny - I tried to sew a curtain today for Maddy's room and its my right ankle which I can't use, so I had to try to control the sewing machine pedal with my left foot! ICK!

I definitely have the itch to sew bears, but can't imagine dragging out the fur with the kid and then I thought of sewing while she naps, but that can be so iffy. So maybe if I have energy, I will ty to do some at night. You all are so inspiring and are so good. I'm suppose to be cleaning, but I wanted to check the forums out again!  bear_wub

Since I was here last, we've moved twice. Once to a 1 bedroom apartment and then to a new house. The apartment was fun with my girl popping her head over the crib at night to see me. We moved into the house 2 weeks after I had sugery. The good part was we hired movers and house cleaners since I couldn't do it!

The surgery was to replace bone on my ankle. I had my joint "cleaned out" 2 years ago and now the joint got so bad I had to have part of it replaced. Of course my girl learned to walk the month before the sugery.

I daydream of filling Madison's room with bear creations fom my bear friends. Daphne - I often think of Oliver, my favorite bear of all. I was so  excited about his pattern and cute look, I have one bear just laying in pieces waiting to be finished. So pleased that the lady who made the Mimzy bunny owns my bear! LOL I haven't caught up completely on all that went on with you while I was gone, but I've been praying for you! Oh my I'd love to attend your bear show too! SO proud of you my friend.

As I read I am excited to "meet" new people and to see what the Oldies are up to. You all are too busy for me!

Well, my novel needs to be wrapped up. Cat, I'd love to see a pic of the twins!

Kirsten

Hi my old friends....
I think of you often but never find the time to read or post, so here I am waiting up for my husband and I thought I would use my stolen moment to write..

The last time I was active was right about the time Daphne was getting swamped with bunny stuff. Seeing Mimzy is such a thrill for me, I can't wait to show my daugther the bunny.

As some of you know, I quit making bears when I had my baby - amazingly over 1 year ago. Since time is so short this moment, I will post a pic and come back and fill you in on how things are going for us. I am currently recovering from surgery and am getting the crafty itch, but am not quite able to use my "sewing" foot! :)

Here is Madison Grace at 1 year. She looks sweet but can be a little tart.  :bday:

I am in such awe of all the work you ladies do, the bears and friends are so great! I need to spend more time browsing and reading!

Kirsten

oh...... my heart aches. I also learned so much from her, before this board. I loved her. There just are no words.

My only thought is that God wanted his angel back, we should rejoice for her!

Kirsten

Hate to tell ya, but I got me a potbelly bear!!  bear_grin
Yep a real one, signed by the artist and everything!

Honestly though, its not all that spectacular, kinda okay, don't see what the hype is all about. I'd rather by a GUND.

Kirsten

LOL
We shall see how long my bundle of smiles lasts at a crowded show. We'll see how many bears Grandma buys her!
She does have super cute toes, I keep trying to eat them, but must contain myself when she bursts out in giggles.
I already have traded her for bears, all my present and future bears, one day I will make another bear!

Daphne - Good luck on the show this weekend also! Glad Oliver remembers who I am.. We need to talk about a bear friend for Madison. Then the bears can send each other Christmas cards! =)

We are doing really well. We moved out of LA, more South, closer to family. Like 5 mins away.. LOL Poor hubby! Madison just turned 5 months. She's already trying to crawl, poor mommy will never have a moments rest. I am very busy with my church and a great mommy group - which I organize. Soooo many playgroups and activities!

I am so lost when I read here. I have no idea what cards you all are making and trading and I saw we have shirts now... Geez, does that come in a onesie? All my fur is still packed up. I waved at my bears the other day, they are in a safe storage bin, begging for a day at the beach! =)

For those that don't know me, or for those who don't want to see baby pics on a bear site, I am sorry, I am about to post more pictures!!!

Love and miss all my bear friends!

Kirsten

If you've seen a lynx on Leno with in the last year, you saw one of our babies.

That would be Boomer right? The Animal Guys had their Lynx on the show, but that may have been a few years ago. I'm pretty sure its the same lynx they bring on each time, but Jay will call them different names.

Kirsten

Hi All!
Thanks you SOOO much for all the nice comments. We are so estatic to have our baby girl! She is truly a blessing and an angel.
Thanks to all of you that emailed me. So neat to see email from my TT friends!  bear_grin

ALso a HUGE thank you for the gifts and cards. Madison will be sending you an email thank you soon!

When my precious peanut wakes up, I'll take a few new photos and update you! Also, I'll try to reread all these messages and reply to questions or comments. Talk later!

Kirsten

Hi all my old bear friends and new members.

Its been so long for me to post. Its hard getting back on when you've been gone for so long, but I think I had a valid reason.

To catch you all up... I use to post frequently, but got pregnant and had to put away my mohair and bear supplies to make way for a baby nursery. I was due March 18.
Feb. 9 I was put on bed rest, I was 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced, so I was no longer allowed to work. Every week after that I was told by my Dr that it would be soon, I was so close.... blah blah blah.... Well I made it to 38 weeks and 3 days when my Dr decided to induce me. I was not feeling contractions that I was definitely having according to the monitors and my amniotic fluid levels were low and baby was not very active. So its ironic, I was on bed rest to prevent early labor and then had to be induced.

Madison was delivered Wed. Mar 8 at 12:19 AM and was 8 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches. I have lots more details of everything baby related on her website, www.homeevans.com

I thought I'd post a few pics on here also for you all! I know Madison has many fans already.

Kirsten

Daphne - I don't post much any more...

BUT I wanted to say WOW! Congrats girl!

Anything you need.... supplies, suggestions or just an boost, let me know!!!

Oliver must be so proud!!  bear_original

Kirsten

Hi my dearsest beary friends....

DO you all remember me?

I have not been a very good bear person, I have totally slacked off!
Not only am I not sewing anymore, I'm not even reading or posting anymore.

Please forgive me. I feel kinda sad... I am packing up all my sewing stuff today to store in the garage.  bear_cry
The baby will be here soon, and I need my office to be more of a nursery, SOOO I also need to clean up and pack up my surplus sewing things. I feel so very sad to put all the mohair in plastic tubs......

I'm tempted to sell most of it off, but I really hope to be back sewing soon, when I don't have a belly getting the way. We also hope to move by June, and then I will have a new place for my sewing stuff!

This whole transition into mommy-hood is quite an experience.  I am 34 weeks (AKA 8 1/2 months), and I can't see my feet!! I have 3 more weeks of work. I am starting to get the dreaded "cankles" and puffy fingers! Definitely could NOT see myself doing any face sculpting right now!

My work is throwing me a tiny shower next Friday and My Mom and sister-in-law are throwing me a Lovely bash the following weekend! I feel so very spoiled, and so happy that all these people are showering their love on my baby girl! I can't wait for her to arrive.   bear_wub

I just wanted to say "HI" to all my friends whom I miss. I will try to read up, but I can't promise to post much!
Bear hugz to you all!

I have a paypal account which is free, I can accept payments IF they are paid through a BANK account, NOT a credit card. Very easy..

Kirsten

I also have had bad experiences with sharpies. I haven't had them bleed when wet, but they do run and turn purple when you use fray check over them... I learned that when I made a white bear and traced out the pattern with a sharpie, when I went back to fray check a few seams on the face, the purple ran and ruined the little bear...

Kirsten

We don't take stuff down until Epiphany which is this weekend, So next Sunday, bye bye tree!

Kirsten

You all are making my hungry!  bear_grin  Now I want hot chocolate and buttered toast. Sounds like a good breakfast before work tomorrow!

Kirsten

minky.jpgDaphne- girl you should be ashamed.... Calling them bears! Humph! Poor road kill critters!  bear_grin
Real fur is tough, I had a hard time with the face...

Kirsten

I had Lasik about 5 years ago. No problems here, my eyes are still about perfect. I was also near blind when I had the surgery. They really numb you up for the surgery and the vallium relaxes you. I think each eye took less than 10 mins. I know scratchiness is normal, what helped was sleeping all day the day of the surgery, I woke up the next day with no pain itchiness or anything. I wore protective eye shileds at night, so I wouldn't rub my eyes while sleeping, but was able to drive right away. So much better than having to wear glasses or contacts. I have super sensitive eyes and never had a problem with the surgery!

Kirsten

Golly, I can barely walk without a waddle, its sure amazing how I can dance!! The belly doesn't even get in the way!!  bear_grin
